It's a shame that thread was moved. It had pertinent information specifically for the racing crowd, and only went off the tracks a few times. I couldn't see the thread following the topic in The Lounge, nor did I want to start getting notifications from non-racers chiming in on something they know very little about and bringing even more negativity to the situation.

Or my favorite, someone with zero posts is allowed to start new topics........about topics in forum stickies or a 20 second Google search. Usually to either troll OR post links peddling some Chinese knockoff product of theirs.
Pet peeves of mine.

I was offering personal stuff related to my wife and her job. I don't really have the time to debate the yahoos from P&R or elsewhere. Agree, totally a shame. Folks should be able to vent, express fears, and hopes with those they feel most comfortable with.

I agree that the thread was very good and a lot of time was put into it.
Do people want it moved back? If so, I will put some effort into making it happen, if possible.

I'll keep it going here for now.
We took my wife's mom in since she's part of the vulnerable population, and this typhoid Mary gives me a cold! It's a weird raw one, sorta feels like I drank sawdust and any exercise, even recovery pace, just is not working. Naturally I am over the top paranoid about it.
Much sadder - my wife was going to teach in the Bronx this semester but was able to get her course transferred to a campus closer to our home. The professor that replaced her in the Bronx died of covid today

I'd rather not discuss Covid with the general cycling population. I'm sure it'll all devolve into how to desanitize your helmet mirror and other stuff.

Seems like you guys in the NY area have had some bad luck with it. I don't think I know anyone who has tested positive yet, but tests are hard to come by here. Mrs John called her doc last week to ask about a test since she's been coughing and feeling weak. Doc said no way, not yet.
The city of LA set up a drive-through test center at a large park near here and I rode by there today. You're supposed to have a doctor's referral but there were dozens of cars, maybe hundreds, lined up and all around the roads in the park.
Near there are two huge lots which are filled with RV type trailers. I think they are to provide a place for homeless people who test positive.
Sometimes I get the idea that things are worse than they are telling us.

I was wondering where you'd all been. Guess I missed the other thread since I never venture outside of stuff I'm already subscribed to anymore.
Our county was one of the first in the Northeast to lock down. I've been home for like 3 weeks already.
I think it's going to get way worse for a long time before it gets better.
My wife was sick of having me home after like the first 3 days. We're trying to figure out ways to coexist. We're much, much luckier than most. One of the guys that works for me is also the only income, but they live in an apartment, have a 4 year old who is developmentally delayed, and his wife is pregnant with twins and on bed rest.
I can't imagine.
