Mind you, I was getting burned out. I was finding the only thing that i could bring myself to give a crap about was finding parts for and fixing up the Lotus. Since that's not what they pay me for, I figured I needed to get my mind right. WAY too many people have been not taking any time off because they're stuck in the idea that a vacation means you go someplace else. I have Minions who maxxed out their vacation accrual, then the company allowed another 40 hours and they maxed THAT out and stopped accruing. And now they're upset about that.

Worth noting that, at least in my experience, people are often looking at a different screen from where the camera is. So, you can - and people do - do other things on the computer while Zooming. Just make sure you don't Share Screen while you're doing non-work things on it!

Yesterday, I noticed that my knee was hitting my bar ends more than I should and that made me realize that something has felt a little off on the bike, lately. Looking more closely, I realized that my bars had rotated downwards a few degrees, probably because of some of the big damn potholes that I've hit square-on in the last couple weeks. I straightened that out and was amazed at how much of a difference it made.
While I was at it, I decided to raise my saddle by 1/4", too, because everybody knows that you should make multiple fit adjustments at the same time. I've been having a little bit of knee discomfort, though, and the location seems to indicate that saddle height could be an issue (and, by most on-bike methods of measuring, I do think that I had it a little lower than it needed to be). Hopefully this'll be a little more comfy. If not, at least it'll look cooler with more saddle-to-bar drop.

Good ride last night, mucho fun was had by all. A couple of my buds are in way to good of shape for this early in the year. One has 10 centuries on zwift already. This prompted some deviousness from me at the end of the ride. It's a sprint finish from a somewhat flexibly established point. So I went early, real early, early enough that I took a break, and then cranked it up again at the end when they were getting close. Lol. Lots of fun!

This mornings ride was nice. My legs having the last 5 days off wanted to zoom, I really had to focus on keeping that in check. Only complaint at some point it felt like I was sucking air through a straw. Not sure if it was the cold air but seemed like I was having a harder time than normal breathing.
I’ll add, that when I have more than 3 days off it seems like I feel wicked out of shape the first ride back, so it might be a combination of that and the cold. Didn’t bother me enough to stop or go to the doctor, just bothered me enough to make sure you are bothered by it too.

Believe it when I see it. Sure, if millions of drivers started buying the e-cars, prices could drop, but they could also run low on lithium. Since I retired I haven't priced batteries or components, so I don't have access to pricing, but while I was on the job things were expensive. Also, a "350 mile range" ev? I'm very skeptical of that whole chart.

I am a pothole and rock magnet. If there's a rock or pothole on the road anywhere, I'll find it. With a wheel, that is. I never see 'em before I hit 'em. Though, to be fair, my worst pothole hits all were in dappled sunlight.

Dunno, but MN roads are bad, 'specially this time of year.
I haven't hit anything this spring because of it, but I've been recently reacquainted with this problem now that the trees are filling out. I might have to dig out my Oakley Prizm Road glasses for a bit - the Ray Bans don't deal with those kinds of lighting conditions nearly as well.

In other motoring news, it's about time they started going after shops that cater to coal rollers:

Here in California late model diesel trucks get an emission inspection yearly and upon transfer of ownership. My last job the sales dept. took in a clean diesel pickup on the weekend and resold it immediately, ( a potential fine for selling it without a smog check). They told the customer to bring it back later for the smog test and when they did, I told them most of the smog equipment had been removed and it was going to cost around $5k in parts to restore it. They tried to unwind the deal but the customer wouldn't budge so they ended up losing money on what they thought was a home run.

I have found my next excuse for being dropped. My wife and I had a home-health visit from our health insurance provider’s nurse practitioner and she ran a QuantaFlo test and claims I have moderate PAD of the left leg and significant disease of the right leg. The, she ratted me out to my family doc who graced me with a phone call. I convinced him that I had zero symptoms that I was aware of so he’s going to wait until I see him at my next visit in June to talk about it more and decide what more should be done.
In the mean time, I have my next lack of performance excuse when I get dropped.
