Double listing. The KHS (1990?) could be XT equipped, but I'm posting mainly for the cool fluoro paint on the Marin.

Marin Pine Mountain - $100 (santa rosa, CA)

KHS Montana Comp - $100 (santa rosa, CA)

I have a clone of that KHS (same color scheme, even); LX mechs and hubs, DX shifters. Haven't decoded the year yet, but 1990 sounds about right.

And yes, that Marin is yummy, right down to the color-keyed stem. Tall one, though.

Sadly the original thumbies on the Marin have been replaced.
Marin is probably around the same year as the KHS. My Eldridge Grade is a '92 with the same font.

Bridgestone RB1 LIKE NEW 48cm - $550 (Newton)

Bridgestone bicycles are famous for their quality and the RB1 was the best road bike in the Bridgestone line. It was Grant Peterson's design for what a great road bike should be. This bike looks like brand new with no scratches in the paint and only slight marks in the adhesive RB1 sticker. The components are Ultegra and the rims have been upgraded to Mavic Open Pro on the original Ultegra hubs. The cassette shows no wear like the bike was barely ridden. In a 56cm this bike weighed 22.5 pounds and in a smaller size and the rim upgrade this bike is even lighter. The frame is 022E Ishiwata seamless heavily butted tubing. This was equivalent or better than any Reynolds or Columbus tubing available.

The Bridgestone catalog is available on https://sheldonbrown.com/bridgestone/1992/1992.pdf . The catalog will tell you the story of the bike as only Grant Peterson himself could do.

This is a bike you could ride trouble free for many years and there would still be collectors who would still be anxious to buy it. I have a collection of Bridgestone bikes and bought this even though it was too small for me because of the condition but I found one that fits me so it should go to someone who can use it. Once you realize this is like a new bike and compare it to what you can buy new at twice this price I think you will be as excited about these bike as I have been. Please include a phone number for text or call in your response.

I emailed the seller some measuring pointers to find out the frame size. Looks like a 59 or 60.

But mostly to see if he'll sell me the saddle.

The Cannondale Files

A very early Cannondale SR model in MINT condition for just $230! Ad says 48cm but it looks to be their 50cm offering. An absolute gem of a time capsule.

Looking very nice paint-wise, minus the mismatched wheels, another SR circa 1987/1988. Likely a 58cm or so. $300.

Agreed on the $400 BIN. Still there at $150 - no bids yet. Might be a good pickup for someone, but not for me - a bit too tall and the corral is full for now!

Early 90's. Goes without saying the HeadShok is kaput, but $40? The XT thumbies should be worth more than that.

If it's an early C-dale, wasn't it a 19" frame rather than 48/50?

According to catalogs, it's a 1986 SR500.

Road/race models have always been in cm increments. Touring models (ATB/MTB too) have always been in inch increments. Weird but that's just how they did it, at least for a while (into the '90s).

You're right, no dedicated racing models till '85 if memory serves. I was thinking of the models that existed before that line.

I dunno. An '80s lugless carbolite with really old (steel?) rims, cottered crank and $10 tires for $160? Maybe $60 ... if you need a bike like that.
