Given all the hoopla I decided to look into recumbent bikes, I kept coming up with these. How you you get anywhere on one?

We know he hates road bikes and thinks people who ride them are stupid and he has preached the 'bent gospel for years here. Many/most of his posts are negative in one way or another. This thread is farming for more negativity so he can tell us the error of our ways.

So much resistance to change ... is my life philosophy.
The most underrated thing about bents and trikes ... is you're close to the ground when you fall over.
Is it really a conundrum ... why I annoy so many people?
When will they ever learn ... not to fall for my troll threads?
So what will be the "newest" thing in gearing ... derailleurs?
Time to diversify ... I'm going to troll a new sub forum.
It just doesn't make any sense ... how can everyone else on the planet disagree with me?

Why not pick a specific example of a $14K bike in which the vendor (Trek, Specialized, Giant, Scott, whomever) lists the individual components.
Then look up the price of each component or group-set, and write it down.
Then add up the prices of each of the individual items.
If the frame is available separately, you can add that in. Otherwise you will have to guestimate. (Maybe start with $4K for a very high-end carbon frame.) Add in that price.
Now add it a few hundred bucks for assembly.
Finally, don't forget the import taxes that agent orange imposed.
Then look up the price of each component or group-set, and write it down.
