Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You can't see them in the pic 'cause the pedals are hidden, but my spare shoes are already clipped into the spare bike ready to roll - saves time on the changeover! I just slip into the new shoes and I am instantly ready to drope the hamer!

Be sure to verify your gear before each ride. If you look closely at the picture right over the top tube, you'll see that you not only forgot the spare shoes and cleats, but the pedals as well. You did remember the crank arm though...

At least your rain is made of water. Ours is made of vegetative sperms.

Oh, thanks. Now I'll have to take a Plan B after riding in the rain...

Stop helping people or be willing to give them their own kit!

It blows my mind how many people never even consider a breakdown. I ride a few times a week with a guy who carries nothing--no patch kit, and no pump. He does carry a cell phone though. So far so good.

Damn, cannot believe thieves stole those right off my bike in the middle of a sportive! The nerve of some people! I will need to add a heft bike lock next time
