Real or fake? - Cannondale Supersix Evo EF Team
#26
Really? The OP posts a bunch of pictures hoping to establish that the bike is an actual EF Frame. One of those pics is showing it has a UCI sticker. He did that for a reason.
If you don’t get it, I’m not going to draw the pictures to explain it. Feel free to argue with someone else.

It looks like the OP must have taken the first opinion given about the bike and doesn't want to come back to answer any of the questions.
IMO, it's not a actual bike that was used by Team EF. It's just a frame that Cannondale painted up in for a limited edition run to sell to anyone that wanted such. Specialized and others do the same periodically depending on whether the teams that ride their bikes are doing well in the grand tours. Particularly the TdF
Nowhere does the OP give any indication that this is being marketed as a actual bike ridden by EF.
And again, I'm not sure what the OP is saying is fake about it.

I still want to know if OP has walked into this shop in Indonesia and took the pictures himself, or if these are pictures from the shop's site (I mean, "shop's" site). Every time I've seen a cool bike at a "shop" in Indonesia it takes about three minutes to prove the "shop" does not exist.

Those pictures were lifted from a social media account by the shop. The shop pictures along with cross referring to a video does seem to indicate it is a real shop and that the bike is indeed real and in their possession. Whether they would actually ship the legit bike would be my concern especially with the preponderance of bike scams originating from Indonesia.
There was another similar thread years ago where the (different) OP posted a link to the "shop" and got pissed when I Googled the address and showed that the building didn't have the suite listed, and no bike shop listed among the current tenants. And didn't match the pictures in the slightest.

Indonesia has a lot of bike scams, or a lot of bike scams at least claim to be in Indonesia. And given how, years ago, I could find lots of "Olympic paint job Cervelo S3s" for sale from there, I have my severe doubts this is a legit Cannondale EF frame, even just the sort sold to consumers. Or, if he's not in Indonesia and is planning to ship, the bike doesn't exist at all.
If that paint job was copyrightable, then that's between Cannondale and the painter if they violated that. However I still have not seen anyone put forth any reason why it should be suspected the paint job is a counterfeit of the Cannondale framesets that were sold with this paint scheme... other than one person said the spacing between two of the logos or such seemed off.

So what would be the scam? It appears to be a Super Six bike. I don't know what other Super Sixes in Indonesia go for, but that price seems competitive with any 2022 plain jane version of a Super Six here with so so components.

If it's a real SuperSix with an aftermarket paint job, that should still be disclosed (but for a rider, probably a great way to ride a cool frame for a discount and not worry about a real collectible).
Again, I saw ads for brand-new limited edition Cervelo frames from years before that did not exist. Whole thing just reeks of scam.

If it's remote, the scam is he pays for the bike and it's never delivered. It could also be a SuperSix copy that looks good enough in low-res pics but is not the real thing and not worth it.

The only thing I'm really protesting about is that the OP didn't define what criteria they had for fake. Faked paint job and not a limited edition frame or Fake bike that wasn't ridden by a member of EF.
As well since the OP didn't give us any context at all for where their location is relative to the bike, I still wonder why it's assumed they are wanting to buy from afar and have the bike shipped to them. With the hodge podge of components, Some not even sponsors of Team EF-Easypost, the bike would be more costly to fix up with the proper components for a collection of bikes representing pro teams.
But like I said for a so so equipped Super Six build, it's still decently priced if the OP is local. And we have some members that are local to some of the Asian countries and Indonesia.

I can't disagree on that.

Hey, everyone! Thank you for all your comments and opinions about the bike. I apologize for not providing a proper explanation of what I meant by 'original'
What I was trying to convey was whether that the paint job on the Cannondale was the one that came directly from the manufacturer (Cannondale) and not a custom paint job done by someone else.
After comparing the original with the one I uploaded, it turns out that the Cannondale does not have an original paint job. Case closed, guys. Thank you

- Cannondale Supersix Evo frame
- Campagnolo wheelset
- Ultegra brifter
- Dura-Ace rear derailleur
- Rotor crank
I don't know, but the above combo would be a big red flag for me. A legit team bike would have definite sponsors, not a combo of Shimano and Campy. And Ultegra and Dura-Ace.
Maybe the previous owner bought the frame only.....but too many questions for my comfort.
But, it does look cool.
