I need some brake pads. Went on ScamBay on 11/8 and bought 2 pair from a seller I used before with high feedback score and did not pay attention to location. After purchase I saw item coming from China. Not a huge deal but one pad is really worn so I went ahead and bought one pair from a domestic seller on 11/9 (next day).
Interestingly, the set from China is already in Wilmington Delaware, while domestic pair are in Hockessin, Delaware. It would be funny if China shipment beats USA.

You know, there are bikes made for drop bars with big tires if you didn't want to go the flat-bar route ![Innocent](images/smilies/innocent.gif)

That said, I'm thinking that flat bar may be the way for me to go - braking and shifting is separate ("brifters"

big john Did not ride in BFE and forgot take a picture until I was near the end. This is a too distant picture of a church I ride by and usually do some laps in the parking lot to stay off the roads and pad the ride total. I don't time trial in the parking lot like Velo Vol. One lap is about .5 miles.

Also a pic from post ride meal with LSS.
You could say it's a scene from an Italian restaurant.

New burrs installed in the ol' Mazzer grinder. I wish that I had some decaf beans on hand - I really want to dial in my grind and don't want to wait for the pre-caffeinated morning. If I were a junky like Trsnrtr, I'd just man up and get wired, but I don't think that I'd be able to get to sleep if I were to start sippin' espresso right now.

Super Monk blend - tasting report
I mixed it half and half with Starbucks Cafe Verona decaf. This was very similar to the Decaf I made the other night in the French press. The most distinctive thing I noticed was how smooth it was. No acidity or bitterness but not a very rich flavor. Good not great. It may take a while for me to acclimate to this. Overall the jury is still out until I taste it a few more times.
In cycling related content; how much additional drop will i get if I flip my stem to timtak mode?
