Ordered a new through-wall AC unit. Not sure if it's 105 or Ultegra level. Donezo with finagling the portable one; not like it's going to get cooler long-term.
Now the portable one can go into my office so running dual monitors won't cook me.

All gone up here: no single use plastic bags in the grocery stores or elsewhere. Plastic straws, cutlery, etc. on their way out as well.
Next up: our federal gummint has its sights set on single-use plastic containers of all types. Meat counters in supermarkets will go back to being, well, meat counters: make a purchase, have it wrapped in butcher's paper.

I was reading something from my uncle's case, I think it was, and it referred to "the Crown."
SMH.

"single use" plastic bags have been gone for over a year now. plastic straws a bit longer. I think the plastic cutlery is gone as well. At any event in my city the food vendors have to serve takeaway food in compostable containers (I don't know about the rest of the country). Meat trays are still allowed, provided they are made of a recyclable plastic. Oh and if you forget your re-useable grocery bag the supermarkets charge you about $0.30 for a paper one. Though that last one is just the supermarkets making more $$$ of their customers.

Mostly the dissolving/establishing a parliament is the formalities at election time. There has been one notable instance in Australia where the Governor General did dissolve parliament in the 1970s thereby forcing a general election before the election term was up.
