Today was a compact hill climbing day. 23 miles with 1800’. Most of the climbs were at 6% but the evil ones were 12% and one 0.70 climb started at 10 topping out at 15%. Ugg - but got PRs on all climbs and one fastest for age group.

So I finally got around doing the Col du Tourmalet east side route on Rouvy..... My legs are pretty much cooked for the day. I did a warm up route first, so ended up with a total of 20.2 miles and 5065 ft of climbing. For a flat lander, I am pretty happy with my just under 2 hr Tourmalet ride. I felt pretty good until it jacked up to 9% to 12%, then it got stupid hard and very slow.

Got up early this morning to beat the heat and rode a 40 mile loop, with 3000 feet of elevation gain. It was a combination of city streets and beautiful canyons. Really nice ride!

40 miles on a new loop mapped out a new route starting in Jamestown, Indiana. It was a great ride for the most part. But because I hadnt reconnoitered the route by driving it beforehand, I was surprised by a stretch of gravel road about 1.5 miles long. I don't find gravel to be a problem as long as it's packed down well enough, but this was certainly not the case today. The front wheel kept wanting to dig in and shovel, but I was able to control it and keep going. The next time I do this loop I will take the next road 1 mile further north.

32 ‘recovery miles” at a leisurely pace which put my real recovery back a day.

Completed my first century today. 104 miles and 4,000ft of climbing starting on the southeast Connecticut and southern Rhode Island coasts back into the hills od \fRI and CT. Super fun ride even with the heat and lack of wind for the last half of the ride.

It was somewhat of a feat for my wife. She's recently recovered from cancer and doesn't have her full stamina back yet. We got her an e-bike to ride while she was recovering, and that's been really fun for her, but now she's trying to transition back to the regular bike. I think this morning's ride was her longest one in two years, not counting e-bike rides.

50 miles with 1800’ at 17 MPH average. Intermittent sprinkles, 72*. The periodic rain kept my nicely cool. Got a wind assisted PR on a 3.5 mile climb beating my previous by a whopping 31 secs.

75 miles, & could have went longer if I didn't have prior commitments to attend.

My first kinda difficult ride back after the 13k' of climbing Death Ride last week. My legs were actually good after that, but have been doing easier rides because of knee pain that developed after that. Only 32 miles on this ride, but with 4.5k' of climbing...with a 9 mile long climb, done at threshold effort.
