Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The words “I don’t care if you buy another bike” were uttered this morning.

Decisions, decisions

Never been an issue in this house. But then my interests lie in vintage steel.
Only once have I paid more than $300 for a bike; that one still came in under $1000

Computer question: Our 5 year old HP desktop "tower" won't turn on. I am fairly sure the problem is the power supply, and I can get a new one for $50-60 on ScamBay. I am reasonably confident I can replace it but I also know it will cause wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth and there is at least a 20% chance that I will mess it up and not get the damn thing working anyway.

I should just take it out back and shoot it, right? And get a new desktop??

Ten day forecast shows a high of 98, tomorrow, and then nothing over 95. We seem to be settling in to normal conditions for this time of year. Finally. It was downright chilly yesterday afternoon.

Soloist built up using Force AXS and my existing Zipp 303s wheels. Or just buying the Force AXS complete bike (or Ultegra Di2)

Giant Propel w. Force AXS

Will keep the Aspero as a gravel bike.

I vote Propel. I am a bit of a Giant fanboy, though. On my second TCR. When it comes to replace my TT (Felt DA2) and aero road bike (Spesh Venge), I will consider the Trinity and Propel, respectively.

Slept very poorly. Nightmares. Zoned out on the couch with coffee until a late short run.

Dell. I've run their desktops, laptops, and servers in my business for over 25 years without any problems.

HP uses too much proprietary stuff.

6k for a bike with narrow wheels and Rival AXS seems a bit heavy though. I would actually also throw a Felt AR in there as well.

They’re commodities. The one with the best components for the least $$

I won’t give away my secrets.

In all likelihood I’ll probably wait until I know what my bonus will be next spring.

Saw a Specialized SL8 in Satin Fog Tint with DA drive, and fully decked out in a store last weekend. Embarrassingly, I had to wipe my drool off of it before leaving it there.

Sadly, true. I plan on a 3-4 year replacement cycle.

My desktop is going strong 7 years later and runs software much better than the extremely expensive laptop work gave me.
