For some reason, these seem more fitting for you.

If your patched section is small enough (3'X3'), and you are dealing with popcorn, don't hesitate to buy a few cans of the aerosol patch from home depot or lowes. That stuff works great and is easy to blend. WAY less clean up/ expense.

I'll second the aerosol cans for small re-texturing jobs... they work just fine.

my eyes hurt already, and I'll be staring at this screen for just about all of today....
I'm thankful to have a job.

True enough. I was addressing the "gross" and "wet" comments.

I've wussed out, apparently.

Had a child care snafu yesterday when the sitter we'd arranged for didn't show up to pick up the kids at school. Had to rush to school from work to pick them up from the office. Finally got in touch with her this morning -- she was expecting a confirmation call from us. My wife thought I'd done it; I thought she'd done it. Anyway, it's all arranged now and my stress level just went down 90 points.

The great part about this is how maturely the kids reacted; they didn't freak out. They waited 20 or 30 minutes and then went to the school office and told the secretary to call me. I was expecting tears when I arrived, but they were all smiles and it's not a big deal.

Give it a few years. It won't be long before a stunt like that will elicit long, loud rants, the rolling of eyes, solicitations for compensation, angry FB posts, and strange looks from their friends when they see you.

Yikes. It's tough to ensure kid coverage all the time. I'm thankful that my wife was able to come back home and leave her job, but we still have to pawn the kids off every so often (like for our NYC trip tomorrow).

On my visit to the new LBS yesterday, I was greeted by this in the window:

The cosmetic outer CF layer detail is much more appealing than this photo. Outfitted with Dura Ace and some Fulcrum wheels, it was priced at just over $3200, some $2k less than retail. I was told by the owner that it had been a display model at a convention, so it had been "handled," thus the reduced price. A remarkable display of honesty considering there were no signs of handling to be found.

Was on the trainer at 5:09am this morning, off at 7:02am. More tomorrow and Friday, long ride scheduled for Saturday, the high temp is supposed to be 22. More snow scheduled for Friday, looks like more trainerville is in store for the weekend. I thought after last winter this one would be mild, guess not.

Topic: wind resistance. The other day while waiting for a large group training ride to pass me while on their final climb ( I was taping, plus waiting for umd to possibly join him on a post ride ride), I was sitting on the guard rail and felt some intermittent prickling on my calf. I looked down to see a small tumbleweed that was lodged under the guard rail and responding to the gusty wind. Annoyed, I picked it up to heave it elsewhere. Maybe 18 inches in diameter and perhaps 8 oz in weight, when I picked it up into the full wind, I could feel the drag effect intensify dramatically. For something so small, all those tiny surfaces worked to create a very effective sail.

Point is, a tumbleweed is not aero at all. Neither are we when pushing ourselves through the atmosphere on a bike.

Everytime I think I'm doing well at work, it turns out that I've missed something tiny or am just about to do it when my boss realizes before I've actually done it. This would be fine, except he freaks out about it.

Next time, it'll be done before he realizes it.
