I have a crit and a short TT to do tomorrow. Chance of rain is 70% according to the National Weather Service. I guess that I'll probably have to find the time to clean my bikes before racing again on Sunday.

good luck and be careful. I got up early hoping to do a quick spin around the local park but it's snowing....again.

Whole trees in motion. Effort needed to walk against the wind.

Don't get blown off the bike!

I went out there @ 7:30 to register. Already a crowd. You're going to have a fun race since you get mixed with the 65's and the 45's.

Latter part of the week has been unproductive study-wise, so I'm heading to tufts to meet up with a friend and study.

I also need to learn to stop blurting out things that I think are funny in my head, especially when I'm nervous. Sigh.

Trainer session with some guys in a cold garage.
It's like we were trying to race each other. I did the hardest 20s so far this year.
First at 97%, second at 95%. Went too hard on the first. We all did, actually.
We also did some one minute hard efforts on the last five minutes.
Longish ride tomorrow.

I need to talk to my wife soon about racing and stuff.
Too many things I need to race before I even race. Sheesh.

Pay for my kit soon.

I'm racing Cherry Pie in Napa tomorrow. And made lunch reservations at Redd -- it's become kind of a tradition that we get a sitter and I take her out to a fancy lunch and wine after the race. I had totally forgotten it was Super Bowl. They're going to pull my American Man card.

I was schleping my rollers to the school gym and was dumb enough to dangle the roller frame off of my handlebar. A strong gust blew from left to right, and the roller leg went into the wheel and snapped a spoke.

Maybe this will give me the impetus to learn how to build a wheel.

Just got out of bed after spending 15 hours in it. I have zero energy and I need to pack for 2 trips at once. One, to Missouri for work, the other, Valley of the Sun race. I leave for both on Sunday. I just ate a Snickers ice cream bar so I should be good to go in a few minutes. On the plus side, I hit my race weight a month early.

Changing a spoke isn't that hard.

FWIW, I relaced all the DS spoke nipples on my cross wheelset with brass. Took a little bit, but with a truing stand and a sound test, I was able to get it working without issue.

Wheel hasn't needed a truing since in its commuter getup.

I've now moved on to a pint of Blue Bell Ice Cream. Something called Happy Tracks. Odd name, but the pint is worth 840 calories. If you can't tell, Ice Cream is my comfort food when I am sick.

Yesterday was fab. Nasty below freezing snow meant I pulled the plug on racing this weekend. Slipped on some ice while taking the dog out at 2am and bruised my ass, tweaked my neck, and dinged my arm. Ate dinner last night and around 9 started to feel queasy. Dinner then violently reversed it's path.

Yep, just another day in paradise.
