Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I remember as a young child being sent by my parents to the liquor store to cash checks. It was the only way to get cash outside of bank hours, which were 1000-1400 Mon-Fri. Not having cash was not an emergency, however, since the grocery, the laundry, etc. all gave credit.

At least 0900-1600, in my memory. My credit union is open until at least 1700.

IIRC, in our town it was more like 10-4, so 6 hours, but also falling completely within the time most were at work, except the poor bastards who worked 7-3.

I used to dread that day shift, but now 7-3 is no prob except for after-work traffic. They should make kids stay in school 'til 5pm

When I was a kid, bankers hours were 9-3 but they were open "late" until 5PM on some random day I think Thursday??

I have always been a night owl, going back to single digits old. At one point, my Dad got really into photography, and he took a picture of the back yard, lit in a way that especially appealed to him. He sent me a copy of the pic, writing on the back - "You'll never have seen it this way. It's called 'Early Morning Sunlight'"

My Dad was a smartass.

As part of our merger we went from bi-weekly to 2x monthly. Doesn't really make much of a difference to me either way. More fun is that my health ins went up by 200 a paycheck as a result of our crappy new CDHP vs the incredibly cheap high deductible plan I had before.

I used to have a thing for the smoked variety. Then one day it just tasted like chemicals instead of smoke. I dont know what happened but those were damn tasty nuts.
