Also 6'2". Back in my starvation days I went from 230 to 175 in something like 8 months. Lowest I've ever been since I was about 11 or 12. I could easily count all my ribs. When I visited my parents they were shocked. Father told me I was stupid, he didn't know it wasn't by choice. Mother didn't cry but came close.

She’s a beast (a good beast)! I remember how much she struggled recuperating after the accident.

I worked in the cafeteria as a stock boy. Long shifts carrying heavy loads, often using the stairs. My feet started to hurt so I saw a doctor. He examined me and then said “You know why your feet hurt?” Me: “No. Why?” Him: “Because you’re fat. You need to lose weight.” One of the best pieces of medical advice I ever got.

We had a good ride. It was colder than I expected (and had gloves for) so the first 90 minutes were numb hands and a bit chilly. Temps around 25F and front-loaded with descents. Brrr! It finally warmed up and ride was was perfect. Except for the French shower who buzzed us.

We started at right about the freezing mark and warmed up quickly, especially when “winter pace” became downright summery and I was much OTB and sucking wind. I did a session of VO2max intervals on the trainer on Tues and I was still feeling it in the vasti.

It was a weird day. I watched the temps drop from when I got up to the ride time. Sun came out from behind the clouds, then it started to warm up quickly.
