Thank you for the helpful advises.
Im now replaced the rear skewer from Rolf's to Shimano's one. It does has more power to tight the wheel up in place. Very recommended for shimano or older campagnolo skewer type. Now just some updates with Campagnolo groups.

Hudz (stupid name, I know) makes lots of flavorful colors.

What do you mean by "sloppy" exactly? I think I might have this problem and I'm trying to diagnose it.

Far and Near Inc.

you can find them on ebay.
the material feel more like the shimano. Hudz is the other option but the material is stiffer compare to these

I like them so much I used them on another built.

I love this Peugeot build. We should meet up for a Pug ride soon. Is this a new upgrade? I feel like this had downtubes not too long ago but heck I may be confusing bikes.

Here's my latest. This is a 89 54cm Centurion Ironman. Started as a pristine frame and built with equally unused 600 tricolor 8 speed group.

Same bike with new running gear! I'd love to do a Pug ride but logistically it *might* be tricky since I keep this one at my in-law's. Thankfully they don't live too far away so doing a switcheroo wouldn't be out of the question. Do you ever do the classic River Road/9W ride?

Has anyone here used a threadless fork/stem along with the STI's? Has it made for a significant change in feel?

Not sure I understand the question. I'm sure any of us with modern carbon bikes have threadless fork/stem and STIs. Many of us use threadless adapters with modern bars and STIs on our vintage retro mods.

Not familiar with anyone putting a threadless fork in their vintage frame though, if that's what you're asking. Not sure the steering tube diameters even work for this.

As for feel, I prefer the larger bar clamp diameter of threadless stems vs quill stems. Feels less flexy but not really a big deal IMO.

I meant replacing the fork with a threadless one.
I have converter stem on mines, feels nice. Just wondering if it be stiffer with a true threadless set up.

In theory, it does make it stiffer, but in practice, it depends on your riding style and strength.

Here's my Centurion Triathlon Master. When I bought it, it had 600 tricolor but unfortunately it was very weather so it had to be removed.

I decided to build it with Ultegra 6600 10sp with Shimano RS80 wheelset. I've done around 2000 miles on it and it's been fantastic.

Taking a survey: Veloce 10 speed now or Athena 11 speed in a few weeks? Silver, of course.

I'd say that depends on your needs? If that extra gear can come in handy for you, then Athena 11. If it's "nice to have" but not "must have" (or even just plain overkill), then Veloce 10. Also depends on whether the Athena is Power Torque or Ultra Torque; some prefer the latter over the former.

Can't go wrong, either way.

Lol let's be honest, if I based my bike decisions on what I "need" I wouldn't have this bike in the first place 😁

I'm holding on UK parts purchases until the Brexit vote is in. If they exit then expect a strong dollar. If the stay then little change seems likely.

Gomango has been tweaking me for so long with his Kvale pix that I finally had to join the club. This is an early-ish one, '78 build, less than 2yrs after Chris started building. It arrived just a couple of days too late to take to the CR weekend, so I built it up after I got back. 10spd Dura-Ace ST7800 STI brifters, which is why it debuts in this thread.

I and my BIL just put a pair of Veloce 10-speed Ergos to go Shimergo on his RX100-equipped Centurion/Diamondback Expert TG. The rear shifting works a treat! The front... well it seems as though the shifter is a triple (5 clicks up and 2 down), though I thought I had ordered the shifter for a double. Because there are so many clicks, it does work and there's always somewhere to put the FD, it just isn't really nicely indexed like I'd want it to be. This is the 2nd Shimergo setup I've done and I'm not as happy as with my 3x9 Athena cross bike.
