There are a lot of roads where I grew up in rural PA that have no center line, and everyone seems to manage not to run into oncoming cars.
Well, ALMOST everyone.
Well, ALMOST everyone.

Here is one more road without lines or cars. They do clean the rocks off of it eventually. It tees into an open highway at the top.

I'm thinking that your conditions will be a smidge less severe.
FWIW, though, some "all season" tires are pretty lackluster on slippery stuff. I don't know what they were, but the stock tires on the Jetta were pretty bad on snow/ice. We once got caught in a storm, with them on the car, while traversing IN. It was very slippery and I could occasionally feel the strong side winds push the car towards the shoulder. That leg of the journey was a stressful crawl and we've since made a point of having the snow tires on the car for any VA trips between ~November and April

That's because the horses know not to run into each other.

It's been said that intersections without traffic controls are one of the better ways to cut down on accidents. I'm pretty open-minded, but man, that would be an interesting transition period.

Ugh. Currently -7°A. Out of pure stubbornness, I'm still thinking that I'll walk to the grocery store and bakery.
Should prolly bring an insulated bag so that the food doesn't freeze, though.

I don’t think I have ever have wanted winter to end, as I do this year. I think I have mentioned it before, by house is at the bottom of a hill and my yard slopes to the rear. My back yard has been solid mud this whole winter, so my daughter hasn’t been to use her play ground. Keeping her entertained is hard, and there is not that many options that don’t cost money for things to do.
Plan was to higher a landscaper in the spring to fix the yard, but we didn’t get back what we expected on our taxes so now that’s not going to happen either.

Sorry, but I've never experienced anything like that happening - there's always warning/cause for concern. The conditions necessary don't just spring in to being - there needs to be enough icy precip to overcome the ground warmth and accumulate (certainly enough time to adjust) or the ground needs to be very, very cold, which means long stretches of freezing temps and little-to-no sun... and then a freak rain storm moves in. I can't fathom what that would have to look like, meteorologically, but it can't be completely without warning.
I'm so looking forward to a nice rain to wash off the roads and get the SLT off of the trainer.

My CBT class recommended doing something for someone to perk up your mood so I shoveled two of my neighbor's drives. One is an old couple that are housebound and the other is a young couple who work long hours, one on third shift. I also did about a thousand feet of sidewalk for the dog walkers because they pick their poop up.

This has been a rough winter for both cold and nuisance snows.
Things that have paid for themselves and/or showed their worth this winter are:
Wahoo Kickr
Snow blower
Snow shovel
Netflix
Prime Movies
4WD
I'm sure that I've forgotten some but I've used all of them almost daily the last month or so.

Ugh. I so miss riding on the Cervelo. It's currently residing in the basement and I carry it up for trainer sessions - it's a reminder that it's so light and lovely compared to the studded tank that I've been riding.

I do like the idea, but would be afraid of the carnage until everyone got the memo. Hell, I'm living in a area where, despite their presence for a handful of years, many still don't know how to navigate a traffic circle.

The Square in Gettysburg is really a traffic circle, and I can tell you, most people don't know how to handle it, and a lot of them freeze.
