I've never had those Sam Adams before. They were really good. Just enough of the blackberry to notice but not overwhelming.
The steaks were great. I cooked, cleaned up, and let my wife and her mom go shopping for a bit. I'm here alone now and going to watch that bike messenger show on the Travel channel.
Tomorrow I'll be on the trainer because we are expecting some severe weather this way.

Well I got a job. WOOOOOOOOOOOO. I've been home, graduated and unemployed since Jan 17th. I start Monday.
I'll be a lab tech in large biotech corporation (Life Technologies).
Not my industry of choice, and it's only a 10-month contract position, but it's <10 mi. from home and I'm happy with the pay.
I'm thinking now I might stay at home for the duration of this project and pay lots of loan/credit debt and save alot of money before I get my own place.
There might be some Psimet wheels, a spooky skeletor frameset and more frequent nice dinners with the gf in the near future.

I bought a couple new video games today, been bored lately. Got NHL 11 (pretty much like NHL 10) and Mass Effect 2 (so far it's kinda meh, too many long cutscenes and too much talking, it's also pretty linear).

I was home studying today and got an email from a tech company they work with saying that our program was a finalist in a computerworld tech awards thing.
If my first reaction was forwarding the email to my boss and asking him if we ever gave them permission to enter us on our behalf, does that mean that I'm a cynic?

I left the Chicago area in the mid-1970's. Back then Chicago dogs were not franchised but rather were mom and pop places all over town. Mostly they were in shacks that you would think would blow over in a strong wind. Now the "dog" scene seems to be overrun by big chains like Portillos. They serve a nice and authentic dog and I enjoy them when I visit, but it just doesn't seem to be the same.

I'm catching up.
Last night I took my wife out to dinner to celebrate her last day teaching/mentoring law students as an adjunct prof this semester. We decided to order cocktails before dinner, but only if we got something that we didn't normally drink. I saw "Tom Collins" on the drink menu and ordered one. It has been hot here and I hadn't had a Tom Collins in over 30 years, so I ordered one. What I got was gin and pineapple juice shaken and poured into a martini glass with no ice. That ain't no Tom Collins!
So tonight I went out and bought some lemons, club soda, and simple syrup. I bought the syrup because I didn't want to take the time to make my own. Then I made a real Tom Collins in a proper piece of glassware for myself and another one for my wife. Very refreshing! I think that I will not wait 30 years again. She asked for a refill so I am working on my second one. They do sneak up on you.

Tonight we went to the new parent orientation for my daughter's swim team. Looks like I forget about sleeping in on Saturday for the next two months.

Good luck to your daughter. Hard work pays off. My daughter is a combo guard at a college prep school and started Varsity last year in 8th grade. The next two years are critical. If she wants it, she could be D3/D2 material. But she has to want it.
