If your chain isn't at least a link longer than the shortest it absolutely has to be, yes.
Chances are somewhat decent that it's long enough already.
Put it in the big/big, then push the bottom of the derailleur cage forward to see if the lower pivot of the rear derailer still had a little room to rotate forward. The more room it has before the stop, the better the chances everything will be just fine with existing chain.

rjones28 and anyone else: If I increase a crankset from 48/32 to 50/34, will a longer chain be required?
Also, check the chain wear. It might be time for a new chain anyway.

Kansas. Apparently they're common in Texas but winters usually take care of them up here, but what with ever-changing weather (oak mites were the big problem a couple years ago) we get all sorts of things we shouldn't get up here now. Usually from Texas.
Funny story: several years ago Colorado and Texas were in one of their recurring legal battles over water rights (I think it was the Canadian River). The Colorado governor at the time was on a talk radio show and told this joke live, over the air: How do you bury someone from Texas? Give them an enema and use a shoebox.
Ah, the glory days before social media.

Texas and Telluride apparently don't mix well. Although I'd have to wager that we probably provide a lot of economic support to the area.

Have a chance to get a a 9-speed 50/34 crank for my Sirrus for cheap, which would make the gearing closer to that on my Domane. It would make both 50/34 on front and 11/34 on back, albeit 9 speed versus 11 speed.
And, no super human strength. Just an old fat guy who is not in the best shape, unfortunately.

My Sirrus 4.0 has a cassette with the same spread as the Domane - both are 11/34. I'm not ditching the 11-speed on the Domane. I'm considering changing the crank on the Sirrus to bring its gearing closer to that of the Domane. I'm good with the 11/34 cassettes on both.

So the Sirrus is currently 9-speed?

I guess the next question is: why? I can't see you spinning out on the hybrid and, if we really get down to it, the more upright position and (I assume) larger tires are going to be more conducive to shorter gearing, anyway.

It's just a cheap project idea and certainly doesn't have to be done. I like to tinker with things at times even if not necessary, reasonable or makes sense.
