I'm hoping we find out about that in time for my DeSalvo.

That one person on a bike, on that racetrack just looks....strange. It causes me anxiety because I can picture a field of fast moving cars zooming into the picture and running him down. Plus there's the comical aspect of whether the rider needs to take what is apparently the best line through the turn....

This is the time of year when I make up Excel spreadsheets with sunrise and sunset times, and add a column where I calculate when I have to stop working to be able to get dressed, ride and get home before it's too dark. Last year, it got to be 4:30 to stop and still get in a 1 hour ride, since I was WFW, rather than WFH, and I had to drive 20 miles from work to where I started my rides, AND allow for traffic on the drive.

First thing that Google gives you if you search "DeSalvo", which I did since I'd never heard that name before

What's your time-frame? Ordinarily Shimano's cycle would have new DuraAce on pro bikes this season and released next year. But apparently we are NOT seeing anything new on the pro's bikes in the TDF so thinking is we won't see anything until next year.
I am willing to use what I have for another 1-2 years, although I would not mind something shiny and new even sooner if the opportunity arises.

On yesterday afternoon's ride, I encountered deer twice, both times within a few feet of the road. Given that I am a deer magnet (THREE times I've hit deer with cars!), I would be afraid to ride in the dark, even with a light, because the dumb buggers freeze till your light passes them and then bolt into your path. Last thing I need to do is hit something that size at 15-35 mph on a bike. Might actually be last thing I do!

February or March. If there's still not a peep I might actually wait, or get it built with mech 105 and keep everything else budget (as much as custom steel ever is) as a test of how I like the material. I am iffy on spending dream-bike money if we wind up dropping a new DA months later with easier routing, new hub, etc. And Ultegra is just the worst compromise.

It's what I have on the R2. The only difference is rim vs hydro disc. However, I'd like to have the new fancy bike at least be swappable to the new hotness...

Looks like the remnant of Sally is going to reverse our plan to go south. Fortunately, there are other directions.

did you really say WTF? Or was it a PG rated WTH? If the former, then I'm disappointed. You are supposed to be the good Doug.
