Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sometimes there's gaps in gearing and you don't have the luxury of your self-selected cadence at a given output. I mean, I could see how it would be appealing for the trainer to adjust resistance to simulate terrain during faux riding, but faux riding doesn't have much appeal to me at this point... so what's the point?
I use my single speed on the trainer. No shifting, just like when I ride it on the road.

You didn't mention that it was part of the bicentennial. It's almost as much a part of American heritage as the Liberty Bell.

Lots of ice, puddles and icy puddles, so I took the Haanjo out today -

MTB shoes/pedals worked just fine, though I did have a couple, "okay, now to stick it in... oh wait - it was already in..." moments.

IMO, if you're still mostly functional and the pain is tolerable, I'd wait on surgery.

Some people end up worse off. No guarantee.
Hurts all day long, I'll take a non invasive gamble prior to any surgery.

Are radiologists licensed by each state the way other doctors are?

Yesterday I had an MRI, then went directly to my appointment with the bone doctor. We waited for a few minutes for the radiologist report.

I asked the assistant if there was a radiologist on site (in the building). She said no, "they read from all over."

I assume they're at least in America, right?

Anyway, it's a fun bike with gravel tires, but a little jarring with skinnies, but that's what he's got the Synapse for, eh?

What does your Canyon weight in at? I bet that you could drop a couple/few pounds pretty easily and make it a great all-arounder - that's my plan with the Domane.
Probably ~20lbs is my guess on the Canyon. I'll get a $5 fish scale off of Amazon and double check it. I'm not sure where the weight would really come from on it but I'm into any insight.

Not sure what he was looking at, I'd have to ask for an update from 'em.

That's right where the Domane is at in stock trim - a hair over 20. I'm sure that the Assaults with 25s drops well more than a pound. The planned saddle change will be another 130 grams. Should be able to take off another 100+ with bars, prolly 50-60 with a carbon seat mast cap, etc.

...but I'm not going to get crazy.

I bet that Watson fella would do a good job, though I'm not sure about his bedside manners.

Yesterday evening the fire alarm went off during band rehearsal. We HTFU and kept playing. It took about ten minutes for someone to turn it off.
