It's a beautiful late winter day here too. On paper and in reality. Sun, mid-thirties, low wind. Unfortunately, I'm still a bit weak from my cold. So I'm confined to walks with Benson and IG pics of my cycling friends rides.

This. I'll sometimes go 80/90. But rarely. 90/100 is the norm

I went on a very nice bicycle ride today. It was sunny and 55°, with fairly calm winds.
Especially nice was seeing the first red-winged blackbirds of the year
I also came across 5 common mergansers, I think 4 female and 1 male.
Lots of geese, too. Spring might finally be happening.
Also, Dura-Ace is nice

To paraphrase the supremely smug and annoying, but much eulogized, William F. Buckley Jr., you two are standing athwart history, yelling Stop, at a time when no one is inclined to do so, or to have much patience with those who so urge it.

Local ice cream stand is open, I had a salted caramel sundae with caramel Oreo ice cream.
I did not take a picture, nor did I Strava it, does that mean it didn't happen?

2.75 hours on the TT bike today. At exactly 2 hours and 11 minutes in, I was ready to be on a different bike.

Those late 90s Rolf QR levers are probably the best QRs I've used as tire levers.
That's how my ride went today.

Wouldn't traditional band music be Sousa and the like?
If you kids what to slog around on mushy tyres, go right ahead.

I not that long ago self-identified as a birder. There was a time when I neither saw nor heard a bird I couldn't ID. Those days are now gone. I've lost interest for the most part

Never been to a velodrome but it strikes me as odd to see a fat bike there.

That is weird to see a buncha MTBs on rollers there. Maybe there's an XC course outside, and those kids are warming up for a race on it.

Just passed my E 145 requal training. Start flying again this week. The stress the last two weeks has been through the roof so relieved this part is over. Havnt been on here much due to studying my ass off. Head home tomorrow, hopefully get to ride some real miles.
Hope everyone else has been well.

I have another question. What do you do in simulators? Routine flights? Or extreme situations? That seems like a lot of money to spend to sit there flying on autopilot.

typically two check rides. The first one is known as maneuvers validation. 4 hours of engine fires failures, hydraulic failures and electrical problems. Low weather landings and missed approaches. The second checkride is a normal flight which consist of two legs point a to point b. Usually something minor goes wrong like weather change or a flight control malfunction.

Some of my unenlightened club mates still pump up to 115 because that’s the number on the sidewall. Sad!
I would hope Velo Vol knows better and is just being obtuse.

It depends on your weight and road conditions, but even so I suggest you try dropping a little, maybe 90-95F and 95-100R?
