My new valves (Milkit) came in yesterday. I was dragging my feet on swapping them out, but your post goaded me in to it. These valves will keep pressure in the tire with the valve core removed, which is nice if your tires occasionally come unseated when completely deflated. The swap and re-seat all went smoothly, but I wasn't ready for the violence of the air pressure shoving the sealant syringe piston - POP! I guess that's why they recommend taking the tire down to 20psi or so before removing/adding sealant.

I may have spoken too soon - they have special valve cores and one of them is being a pain. It's not snapping shut when removing the pump head and it's losing somewhere in the neighborhood of 10psi before I can manually pull the bugger out and stopper it. Will have to see if I can find others with a similar issue and see if there are some tips for dealing with it.

October is a week away. The other night I was watching "The Waltons" on the Hallmark Channel and saw ads for their Christmas lineup of programming.

In fairness, this year more than ever I assume people are trying to look forward to the holidays and the end of the year as much as possible. Is anyone really excited for this October?

October is the official start of fire season here in California. We get hot, dry winds which makes fighting fires impossible. We already have the most acreage burned in the states history and it isn't fire season yet.

We knew what they’d be already, of course, but the Campy Ekar cassettes are just frustrating, and take it out of contention.

2 hours of work-work and 2 hours of organizing a closet and gathering boxes of documents for shredding. 0 hours of bike riding since we are experiencing heavy rain. No nap but I think I'm going to work on that.
