Up next: Pub crawl for friend that is leaving town. This should get interesting...

Short spin, and on a new clincher tire, 25 Continental GP4000iis. Wow, wow, wow. The feel of the 25 is incredibly comfortable and smooth. So glad that I have the clearance for it.

Woof ... shorter ride today, but hit a 60s-ish climb that I took at 100%+. Tingly extremities around 45s and near full body numbness around 55s. After getting over the top of it, I took a short descent to a pretty rural stop light where I sat down because I felt like I was due to puke. Then I laid down and stayed like that for about 10-15 minutes. During that time, at least 10 people stopped to see if I was ok. Eventually an ambulance stopped, I assured them I was ok, and decided it was time to move on as I probably looked absurd. Good times, but set new power PRs from about 20s through 90s. Just in time for the season to be over.

Good tire. Don't rub it in on the clearance.

Felt like this during my Fat Boy Intervals today, did not recover from the 2' effort effectively at all. Several passing walkers on the sidewalk looked at me pretty hard as I wheezed and winced by during my recovery before the 1' effort.

Just did an easy recovery ride, 34 tss. My desire to be faster has supplanted my desire to enjoy cycling.

70 mile ride with my new teammates rounding out my biggest ever week on the bike: 347 miles and 17.5 hours. It wasn't intentional, I just had some spare time this week that allowed me to extend my rides

If it makes you feel better, I flatted after 23 of 40 laps today at Wells :-) Maybe I should have pumped it up more!

Nah man, I'm bummed for you! Especially cause that's the last Wells until 2016. I myself did pump it up, rode CX bikes at Wompatuck and I had LOL PSI in the tires. There was much caroming off of roots and rocks. But I didn't flat, so.

Just pounded 2 bowls of cereal and some coffee- about to find my way up Mount Dome outside Bennington via back woods dirt roads and trails I discovered yesterday on a cx bike, then introduce my face to all the cotton candy at a 3 county fair.

Nice, chill 63 miles & 2500ft of climbing with a friend to mark the conclusion of our summer riding. Three others joined us for most of the climbing segments. One spirited moment at a bit past the halfway point; no one was coming around me :-)

About 5k of climbing in 50 miles....with 2x20's mixed in....set a few power pr's....(and a few watts higher than my 'test' on Sat). Went about 20 miles on about 10 pedal revolutions.

Around these parts there is up and down.

easy ride yesterday with the LBS crowd ~24 miles.. another 29 today solo just because I have the day off. Trying to make up for the Sat brisk paced ride I missed due to breaking my crank arm.

2x20 threshold, ouch. first set was 260 (personal best), 2nd 240 and was pretty cooked and had trouble finding a good rhythm (and probably over-ambitious with first set). I said I wouldnt do these indoors until it got cooler, yet I did it again since it's going to be mid 90's here, so the lesser of two evils.

EZ day, 1hr with one hot lap (10') around Fiesta. Don't feel tired, but legs are stiff from riding so much last week, -25 TSB this morning after two days off.

This week: Mostly easy with one 3hr ride (tmrrw).
Next week: Same
Week after next: FTP testing and base training begins! I'm participating in El Tour de Tucson again this year, which is a lot more than I usually ride. My "preparation" will consist of a couple 4-5hr rides/week, and the rest EZ. Maybe a week or two of less volume and some threshold work. After El Tour (Nov 21), will drop volume and focus on threshold, I prefer riding lower volume and higher intensity anyway.

But wait, it gets better:

This weekend: Sierra backpacking trip! Parking at Onion Valley (shortest way to the crest) and camping in Kearsarge Lakes basin. Day 2 will feature a class 3 scramble up nearby University Peak, 13,600' with some epic 360 degree views.

I can't wait!

ugh, still battling this cold (surprisingly, doing a stage race didn't help it to go away) and gmsr fatigue (gmsr is the type of race where the 70 mile day with 6000ft of climbing is the "easy" stage). will likely be easy recovery spins today and tomorrow but I want to race cross on saturday so I need to get back on that bike at some point, hopefully thursday, for some woods riding and actually doing some dismounts before i jump into a race.
