What did you just buy for your gravel bike?

Ordered a new set of tubeless Schwalbe G1's and XTR SPD's for the Niner. Found some great prices on bikebling.com, but then they told me both were backordered! I hate online sellers that don't tell you up front an item is not in stock!

I'm so glad to have found this forum of like-minded individuals - I thought I was the only one that bought gifts for my gravel bike!
Just last night, I bought my baby some flowers. I love her so much.

What brake did you use on the rear, in order to get it to work with 700c wheels?

Not lost wanderer.
3 sets of ultegra level flat bar shifters with brake levers. Shimano SL-R770 3x10 shifters, sweet stuff.

Building up a Marin Bridgeway hybrid/comfort frame as a gravel bike.
Microshift XLE 10-spd. clutch rear derailler and M10-R bar-end shifter. KMC X10 gold chain for bling. Actually I got these months ago but I'm just getting around to installing them for my build. Kool-Stop Thin-Line salmon v-brake pads for rear. It seems that stock brake pads are too hard-compound and tear up the rim eventually.
Brooks B17 Champion Special tan saddle I bought from a friend never used but has some "shop wear". Pre-owned Trek Alpha aluminum disc fork.
Ok all I need for it (beside cable housing) is tires and the disc brake rotor and caliper.

7020 hydraulic shifters and 7070 flat mount brakes from Merlin.
I'm finally moving away from my beloved gevenalle shifters. The hoods are great and the funky shifting setup had been flawless for years without being touched for adjustment, but im going full hydraulic.
The exposed cables in front of the bars is annoying(but not enough to motivate me tonchange). The braking quality with my cable actuated hydraulic brakes isn't what I want. Its fine and stops me great every time, and I can fully engage from the hoods with a single finger, but still the braking is...meh.
I'm sure its in part due to the pads, but I figure this investment is relatively small once i sell off my current shifters and brakes.

I bought a new bike, for my gravel bike.
I just could not get comfortable on my Terra, and a great deal on an Apex 1 build come up, so I'm making the switch!

Just changed up my 2021 Specialized Comp Carbon. Got some shimano xtr spd pedals with a nice pair of specialized shoes to go with them. Took the 38mm gravel tires off and put some 32mm Continental GP5000 wheels on it. Sucker flys on the concrete lol.

After moving to a less small apartment I need to find a ways to stash as many bikes as possible without annoying the wife too much. I ordered these post mounts and so far so good. Between the saddle and the top tube there are two mounting heights, I guess the front wheel could be used also. They're not beautiful but they work and were easy to mount.

Kuat Sherpa 2.0 hitch mount bike rack. Had to hack/bodge a front rim brake guard out of a pool noodle, velcro straps and tupperware lid because the front clamping arm doesn’t play nice with the cantilever brakes on my vintage Specialized Hardrock.

Glad you posted, I've been thinking about getting a rack similar to this one. I am re-thinking, thanks

I actually felt this issue would happen and it was confirmed when I loaded my bike. HOWEVER, I specifically chose this hitch rack after researching the alternatives like 1Up, my 2nd choice. What swayed my decision despite this shortcoming was the fit and finish, overall quality and robustness of the Kuat Sherpa. Watching countless user videos and reviews demonstrated how superior Kuat was not only in quality but in value. Speaking of value, 1Up’s Heavy Duty SINGLE is the same price as the Kuat Sherpa that is pre-built to hold 2 bikes. Adding another rack add-on to the 1Up increases the cost by another $130. Maybe if 1Up was more evenly priced I could have been swayed but the raw look of 1Up’s offerings seem primitive and coarse compared to Kuat’s polish. And, my useful hack/bodge wasn’t difficult or expensive to create so I’m happy on that front too.

I recently built dynamo front wheels in 650B and 700C, in carbon rims matching my existing pairs. CX-Rays, brass nips, Son28s, all black. Built a wiring harness for hub to Forumslader, Forumslader to 12V headlight, USB to bike computer. 2nd USB slot to charge phone, or rear blinker during stops. Added a switch on the framebag with 1) all-off, 2) headlight-on / hub-off and 3) headlight on / hub on. Built a weather-resistant enclosure for the Forumslader with 3x18650:
Objective was: reduce hassle managing device batteries, especially on tour. Campground outlets are often a total cluster****. Enclosure doubles as a general-purpose large powerbank for off-bike days. Pretty stoked

Finally the new decals arrived for my Giant Innova and have all the raw materials to give it a new look already. Got a new cassette to but put it on early for the last ride.

I've dealing with some creaks recently, and I think the stem is the culprit. I'm also slightly lengthening the stem reach and switching to a shorter-reach bar to try and open up some leg room at the front end of the bike.
Anyway, to rule out any potential stem quality issues, I figured I'd go nuclear on this thing and get a Pearl.

Also, I didnt realize the Pearl has a loose nut on the back underside of the bar clamp. Interesting.

Not quite. It's been sitting around half-finished.
Technomic-series stems do as well, although they use a normal hex nut rather than the specially-shaped nut on the Pearl/NP.

Got a great deal on a set of FFWD F3AD alloys from PBK, gonna use them as a road wheelset for the gravel bike, since I'm selling the road bike and will use the gravel bike to pull double duty.
Pretty light, stiff, love the DT350 hubs, I'd say go grab a set, but they're sold out. lol
