Someone has a used stoker kit for $149 on the 'Bay so not necessarily getting $300

Buy it. Remove the child stoker kit. Flip stoker kit it for whatever you can get. Price drops even further.....

https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/bop/7569047204.html

Burley Duet tandem (with child stoker kit) - $300 (Rockwall)

Burley Duet tandem for sale, includes child stoker kit. The rider in front is called the 'captain' and the rider in the rear is called the 'stoker'. Currently set up for a captain about 6ft tall and a 9-yr old stoker. Should suit a captain from maybe 5ft-6in to 6ft or so, and a stoker from age 4 or 5 up to any teen or adult, if the stoker kit is removed. The child stoker kit ($300 retail) can be easily removed if not needed. This is a steel frame tandem and a blast to ride. It has it's share of bumps and bruises like many used bikes, but has plenty of fun miles ahead.

21-speed drivetrain (Triple crank and 7-speed rear cluster)
Flat bars with Shimano trigger shifters for captain
V-brakes for good stopping power
27" wheels front and rear with Bontrager 27x1" tires
Adjustable stoker stem fits a wide range of stoker sizes

Ready to ride. No issues. Great Christmas gift for the whole family!

I know they aren't anything special but $200 for both seems reasonable. Buy both flip one for $200 and keep the other.

Super neat, old Bianchi bikes, possibly early 90’s, with lots of potential! One of the bikes is in pretty good condition all around and the other has a rusted chain. Aside from that, the rest of the bike is in good shape. 2 for 1 deal - get both bikes for $200

Just a quick observation from personal experience. I had one of these Park workstands for years but never found it terribly stable on my ancient (heavily patched) basement floor. I bought a $30 work stand from Aldi and use that instead. I don't think that deal is still available, but the same basic stand is available from Amazon and probably plenty of other outlets for less than a Benjamin.

between facistbook marketplace and Craig’s junkyard this KaRackum might be the only decent deal near me. https://fortwayne.craigslist.org/bik...567293081.html

$200 bucks.

There’s a red aluminum Trek about an hour south in Marion, too small, but the black Royal Grand Compe brakes make it look interesting. sloar did you see that? Looks like maybe a 56ish

Mint 1987 Cannondale Black Lightning $350

Near Rochester NY, where it is too cold to knock off the dust with a garden hose. Not a Cannondale expert, but it looks to be mostly original. Taller frame, but I just can't justify it to myself.
Price reduced from $500

I could see where the Park stands design would not work well on uneven floors and this tripod design would be more stable. I have also heard/read good things about these Adli stands. But I must say, I have this Park stand and have zero stability issues on flat ground, grass or paved. I generally bow to the wisdom and experience of this group and see a few likes on quoted post, have others had stability issues with the PRS-1?

Pardon my slight hijack: I don't own a Park stand (mine is a Japanese unit sold under several brandnames like Minoura, but long discontinued) so no opinion on stability of the PRS-1.
But I live in an "Aldi-free zone" so cannot take advantage of these limited-time-only deals unless I just happen to be visiting, say, SoCal when one is burning hot. Usually not.

I have discovered that many items Aldi's buyers find are often available to us "unlucky shoppers" from Chinese Big Boxers like Aliexpress, but caveat emptor!

This very same repair stand (with the quad-pod base) can be had for around $36 on that site, however shipping from China pushes it to well over a Benjamin! $36 seems about right from what I can tell of it's quality, but YMMV.

Read the Aliexpress ad fine print carefully: watch for bait-n-switch in both descriptions and photos.
Aliexpress management will try to "make things right" if you have a legit dispute but that can take a long time to get resolved.
I hate to say it but sometimes using Amazon is safer, I usually try to find stuff from an eBay seller, first.
Just my two cents...now back to the regular content

Even if I ignore the pedals, saddle, and a few other details, there's just something about a Pogliaghi with a kickstand that makes me sad.

Agreed but when have/did/are you going to see another this old and available?

Ifn it was my size, and doable I would already have it.
