My ride today was fantastic.
70.6 miles today with perfect weather
Mileage this month 269
Mileage this yr. 1574
Over/under riding days this yr. vs last yr. +1
Over/under miles this year vs last year +150
34 miles average per ride this yr.
45 miles average per ride this month
5425 miles needed to hit my 2011 goal of 7,000
Very good weather all day today 57* when I left and 77* when I got back. Met two friends at the San Sebastian Trail Head with the intentions of doing about 35 miles finished up with 70.6 turned out to be a very good ride. I am still ahead of last year by about 150 miles but I will lose most of that over the next few days. I still have a shot at my goal of 700 miles this month but 600 miles would be a more realistic goal and I will need some cooperation from the weatherman.

Oh my goodness, I been on a bike MAYBE 8 times since mid December, each time for 5 mile loop. I did 10 miles today and feel drained, and this is from someone that did a Metric last fall. It is amazing how quickly one looses one's stamina!

My ride today was short.
12.0 miles today with perfect weather
Mileage this month 281
Mileage this year 1586
Over/under riding days this yr. vs. last yr. +2
Over/under miles this year vs. last year +161
33 miles average per ride this yr.
40 miles average per ride this month
5413 miles needed to hit my 2011 goal of 7,000
Very good weather today, 69⁰ when I left and 76⁰ when I got back. Rode to the bank to renew some IRAs which are paying nothing right now, then to the bike shop to get a bottle cage bolt drilled out that I had break when I was cleaning the bike on Monday . I still have a shot at my goal of 700 miles this month but 600 miles would be a more realistic goal and I will need some cooperation from the weatherman.

Weather, sunny, wind 15km/h out of the south west, temperature +3℃, gotta go to the post office to get the mail, been walking it most days of the winter, got the MTB ready to go, forgot to air up the tires though, still a nice ride, hardest part, getting down the ice covered driveway. Total distance, 2.6km.... It ain't much, but it's the first outdoor ride this year. Little compared compared to the 1085km indoors on the trainer, and I am currently 960km ahead of last year. I'm actually 59km behind ALL of last year

I'm in the same place but the weather is finally cooperating. Did 10 miles with a heavy wind and was 5 minutes faster on my new road bike than my best time on my mtb with slicks. Just kept telling myself, "wind is good, wind is my friend".

Gorgeous, sunny and 57 degrees F here today. Didn't up my distance much - 5.211 miles up from the 5.086 I did on Sunday. But, upped my average speed from 9.5 to 10, upped my max speed to 26.2, and most importantly, made it up a hill I've been previously unable to climb. Yeah, I was breathing like an asthmatic chain smoker at the top, but I made it up!!!

My ride today was awesome. It was about 55F and the training plan called for 13 miles at a brisk pace. I kept it in the small ring but spun a higher gear for the 50 minutes I road. Managed a 15.8 mph pace which felt great.

I popped by cycling cherry today. Rode 7.5 miles each way (15 miles round trip.) Took me an hour each way, pretty pathetic I know. Stopped a few times. But this is coming from someone who hasn't been on a bike in at least 7 years. Had fun was a nice spring day here today.

I had a really great ride today. I've found a nice paved trail nearby the house and am taking full advantage of the 'spring-like' weather (65F High today).
24.7mi
1h30min (6 min better than last)
87 Avg RPM (5 RPM better than last)
Here's today's data...
https://connect.garmin.com/activity/73437763
On the ride back to my car, this lady was on the path rollerblading and at about a football field away from her, I can see these little movements near her feet. I thought it was leaves at first and as I got closer I saw they were animals...and as I approached, she was rollerblading and her two little chihuahuas (sp?) were running circles around her. I'm a dog lover, but these things were like city rats...about took one out!
Keep up the good work everyone!
Happy St. Patty's Day!

My ride today was great.
45.6 miles today with perfect weather
Mileage this month 327
Mileage this yr. 1632
Over/under riding days this yr. vs. last yr. +2
Over/under miles this year vs. last year +177
33 miles average per ride this yr.
41 miles average per ride this month
5368 miles needed to hit my 2011 goal of 7,000
Very good weather today, 65⁰ when I left and 80⁰ when I got back. Rode the length of the Seminole Wekiva Trail and back plus some road riding with a friend. I still have a shot at my goal of 700 miles this month but 600 miles would be a more realistic goal and I will need some cooperation from the weatherman. The wind was my friend today, it was nowhere to be found.

I'd be happy with that too Eric!
Best ride yet tonight! Not only my longest at 15 but it was beautiful out tonight. It was about 82* and sunny with just enough of a breeze to keep us cool. I was worried I'd be completely shot after a ride that long but I felt better today than I have on any of my past rides. It probably had something to do with getting away from all of the hills in my area and being able to finally get out on some flat land!

10 miles and 750ft of climbing. I started the ride with the intention of riding 25-35 miles but it started raining on me - again! The rain doesn't bother me but I just spent 2 days drying out my brooks saddle - didn't want to soak it all over again...

Sunny, 75 and breezy. My son is visiting from out of state, so I made him go with. Despite being <1/2 my age and 100lbs lighter he couldn't keep up with the old man. (And I took it easy on him.)

Sunny, but chilly at 42F this morning. Still, have a lot to do this afternoon, and wanted to get out, so out I went. Windy enough that I didn't increase my speed, but did manage to increment my distance up to 5.632 miles. Just a little more each ride...and I'm getting less winded, and recovering quicker, with each hill.
Planning to get in at least 30 minutes on the exercise bike this evening as well. Bought a memory foam seat pad for it yesterday after my buying spree at the LBS. They didn't have one large enough for an exercise bike seat there, and my exercise bike won't take a standard saddle. So, off to WalMart, who had nothing, then Dick's, who had an Avenir memory foam cover designed for exercise bikes. Much improvement over the stock plastic.
Onward and upward!!!

Great weather today, 60⁰F when I left home and 80⁰F when I got back. Rode the length of the Seminole Wekiva Trail (26 miles) and back plus some road riding with a group of Florida Free Wheelers. I still have a shot at my goal of 700 miles this month but 600 miles would be a more realistic goal and I will need some cooperation from the weatherman. The wind was my friend again today, it was nowhere to be found. It was only 6 to 8 mph from the NNW. I think this was the most people that I have seen on the roads and trails this year. The weather is really bringing them out.

Gorgeous, amazing weather - mid- to upper 60s, some wind.
31.3 miles in 2.5 hours. Avg. speed 12.something Top speed 41.2 (hello!)
I got on one road I've been meaning to get on 'cause I've heard it was mountainous and rather challenging, so I did it. I swear, at one point I practically screamed "Jesus!" 'cause I looked up and it just kept slowly sloping up and up and up for what seemed like miles. It wasn't a terrifyingly steep grade, but it was long and relentless and upward.
At one point, I just wanted to do something else besides spin up this relentless road, so I got off the bike to walk it for a second. It took me a second to get grounded, then I noticed that I don't believe my heart has ever beaten that quickly in my life. It sounded like a double bass drum on a Slayer record. I can't figure out whether this is a good thing or a bad thing.
So I get back on the bike, and I'm feeling better, and I make it up to the top. Whee! Going down! I tried to remember to keep pedaling as much as I could and not coast, and I'd say that's where I hit 41 mph. I shudder to think what speeds some of the in-shape 10-pound carbon road bike guys who weigh 150 pounds can hit going down slopes like that.
Question, if you've made it this far: I'm trying to get ready for a metric century next month. I need to start upping my mileage. I left today with the intent of trying to be on the bike for literally 5 hours. But I swear, after a while, I'm like "damn, this is getting old." How do you ride for longer distances without wanting to pull your hair out? I try to just concentrate on doing the right things during the ride with the gears, but there's only so many insane hills I can go up before I just wanna sit around the house and eat Clif bars.

40 miles in 3 hours with a 17-23mph wind
First long ride on my new (for me) road bike. Was planning on the 25 mile ride I have done on my mtb with slicks, but got to the turn around spot so quickly I wanted to keep going. So we kept going and I was feeling great. Then we turned around to head back (south), into the 17-23mph wind. Wow, that sucked! Especially going up the hills with it blowing in my face. But I made it!

Much cooler here today than the last several days, in the mid 40s'. Rode around the local area streets taking in the sights and avoiding cars for about 20km on my Rocky Mountain.
It was actually nice and not too chilly until into the wind.
