Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

On a sunny day, I'll sometimes wear my sunglasses and bring a second pair just to stick in the helmet for extra poseur points.

Safety and comfort are nice, but you gotta look cool!
I tried it with my oakley minutes and my helmet and it dindt work. I was disappointed. I am planning on getting the pneumo soon so hopefulyl I can roll like lace

I'm reminded of the time I saw a young lady in a ski shop - she had selected a boot based solely on color and was walking down the rows of skis trying to pick one that looked best with the boots. Apparently didn't matter if it was freestyle, downhill, GS, or whatever - as long as the colors worked.
As far as the naked Ti question am I the only one thinking that we need pictures to help make a proper recommendation?

What's your point? Doesn't everyone do that?

Obviously the point is that it's always better to LOOK good than to feel good. An essential part of the true poseur creed.

We hear a lot about posing in front of coffee shops and 7-11s, but I have yet to see any real evidence of this. Where are the pics??

this took my breath away.... now back to the helmet.

Well whatever colour scheme you decide on, you might want to check into the Louis Garneau Helmet Customiser. It's got the OCP Club endorsement I'm sure. Given that Litespeed, here's a couple of ideas.

Website says you can add personalized logos to the helmet.

To paraphrase Shakespeare, "A helmet by any other color shall look equally radient upon thy golden locks". After all, we all know that the wrapping on the outside has little bearing upon the true gift that lies inside.

This is not a class on inner emotional spirituality. Although, when it comes to being spiritual, one could argue that to become a true poseur, a certain level of spirituality must be achieved.

I must admit that I am not OCP material. But my wife is all the way down with OCP. She's ridden her bike at total of 20 miles and already has more cycling clothes than me. All color coordinated. We went to 5 different shops before she found the right helmet. She already has her brother doing up some custom decals for her bike. On her list of upcoming mods...carbon bars, carbon stem, and carbon water bottle cages. She is keen on the Spinergy Rev X's, but isn't sold yet on them. But they are carbon and she likes the style. I'm afraid to show her some of the other carbon wheels out there...I asked if she should ride a little more and get it in better shape before she tricks out her bike. Ya know, not ride so slow. Her reply, "It doesn't matter how fast you ride if you look good."

I'll tell her about the OCP club. But she's so much of a poseur that this whole board thing is a little beneath her...

Oh, and according to my wife your helmet must fit your head properly so it doesn't make it look like you have a big head. And the helmet, shoes, gloves, and glasses must match. One last note from her. You get big points if you wear a gold chain with a small cross on it. Your jersey should be unzipped enough so that it can dangle out when you come up out of the saddle. Doesn't matter if you're Christian or not. Lance wears one, so you should too....accessories, accessories, accessories...

And all along I thought the true posuer was merely the superficial being.
The spirituality being attained the first time you get a glimpse of your reflection in a store window.

There's so much more to chosing a helmet that the bike shop guy let on...

Yep I'm just a few aluminum pieces away from OCP status...

Key is color coordination...also owning a fast as heck bike and then riding it plain clothes just makes it all the better....especially if you are trying for that "OCP in denial" look It's also more fun when you smoke the uber-poseurs who ride tri bikes in full team kit while clocking all of 12mph in full attack.

I'd personally go for a silver or yellow helmet on that bike Kirke, if you don't go LG custom. I'm a huge fan for accentuating details. Silver is kind of a bit extreme to me since the bike already has lots of white metal in it (the Ti, and the Ksyriums), so it's looks like the person is trying too hard to match the bike. I'd still say go for Khuon's idea on the LG custom...those look hella sweet.

Oh and for bonus poseur points...custom carbon fiber cages....forget the big name stuff...you can get some ~15g customs (counting aluminum bolts) for around $60 each.

..as for me, I'll settle for the OCP in denial look....at least until I get thin enough to not cause people to run and scream in terror that my belly might eat them!
