Doesn't Masi still make a light steel bike?

You're WRONG!
Do your research! Masi's Gran Corsa, going for $1,675, has a decent aluminum frame with carbon stays (that I think are a little pointless) and a full Shimano 105 drivetrain. But the fork has an aluminum steerer and it doesn't have BB30. You can the Gran Corsa and far more from the: Jamis Ventura Race (full carbon fork), Specialized Allez Comp Compact (SRAM Apex, no CF stays but a far better aluminum), (BB30, full carbon fork), and the Cannondale CAAD 10 5 (CAAD10 is a better frame I think we can agree, BB30, full carbon fork). *Clears throat* Might I mention that all of these examples are cheaper as well. This value disagreement doesn't apply to only the Gran Corsa but almost every bike offered by Masi. Are there any who would disagree?

I am one who disagrees wholeheartedly. I found mine at one of my local bike shops at a great price. Its a 2015, MSRP was $1360 and I bought it for $800 in April 2017. I shopped for 3 or 4 months, looking for a bike worthy of the shimano 105 setup. Could not find one under $1000+. Not even used in my size. I really got lucky for sure. It was the last Gran Corsa they had and it fits me like a glove @ 59cm top tube. I'm completely happy with my first 'go fast' bike, thank you very much. Not nearly as hard a ride as I expected from an aluminum and carbon bike. I for one have no complaints at all. There are many greats about this bike. Love the 52/36 chainrings, as well as the 11-28 cogs in the rear. Those are only two of the greats I love about this bike that I have time for now. Very pretty bike too, I love my Masi!

I don't know why, but i like Zombie threads.
My 2011 Masi Evoluzione (built up in 2012), is still going strong under a 200 to 240 rider, I think that says a lot. I really LOVE the BB30 and tapered headset, again, both things are really good if you weigh as much as 2 professional cyclists put together.![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Interesting, the frame still looks the same 6 years later, they must have gotten it right the first time.

I had a 2010 fake Masi - I really liked it. Some butthead stole it when I had a broken pelvis and wasn't riding.
I hope that guy's a zombie now.

My 1st MASI was built I think about 1976.
My kid got the SoCal one ~2014. Great bike - his favorite bike (he has many bikes). Now solid, stiff, <12lbs with Di2.
Many pictures to follow.

Man this thread is so old that even if nothing else had changed the dollar mounts from the original thread will be substantially off now just due to inflation. Jayzus save us from these zombies!
