What made you pull the trigger on a Fatbike?

gave me two Vee Rubber slick tires.
There was plenty of rubber on them.
He says the slick surface is prone to picking up glass.
I at least get to try them out. It looks like I will be doing some pavement riding.

I have a strange job, keeping tabs on about 1000 acres is part of it. Being a cyclist, it only made sense to ride a bike on it whenever possible and a fat bike is perfect for doing that. As it turns out, it's great for getting in seat time when the weather is to dicey to get out on the road, and it's even better to hunt with.

Is the thousand acres wooded? I too am a hunter and
took a doe with my longbow after seven years of hard hunting.
I bet you nice fat tires will make very little sound.

It's mostly wooded, with a little agriculture. Grats on your doe. No small feat with a long bow. You're right, fat bike tires are very quiet. I exclusively hunt off the fat bike. I never start an atv unless I need to haul one out. I'll ride up on deer fairly often getting in and out of the woods. The only exception is when the acorns are falling. Acorns popping under those tires is comically loud. Turkey season is even better. I can cover the entire place twice while locating gobblers, and do it very quietly.

I chose my Salsa Mukluk because I am capricious, have several other types of bikes, liked the red/brown color and have more money than brains. That said, I love riding it everywhere! A real kick in the ass!

That’s does it! Fat Boris is going to see some terrain! I’m an avid gravel grinder but other cycling disciplines needs to be pursued so fatty is going to hit some trails. Local state park about 30 miles away not far in Texas. The pictures provide motivation.

Firm but gentle
I pulled the trigger on a fatbike because I felt it was time for a change. How else am I going to check out fatbike versatility? I feel like it is a lot of bike for the money (2019 Beargrease Deore on sale). I am liking the bike quite a lot. I have no plans to ever ride in the snow, at least not yet.
