Just finished this Motobecane Grand Tour...again
Just came around again!
‘Cycle carrousel...
Took it out for it’s shake down...no padded shorts.
Not missed! Not needed!
Much longer ride tomorrow...with padded shorts.

I'm finally starting to see a little stretching of the leather around the nose rivets on my old X1. Saddle is closing in on 11,000 miles, tension bolt is just past halfway used. I'm closing in on being comfortable ordering an X2 for the bike, maybe sometime this summer or fall-- I just couldn't bring myself to replace it with the newer model when it was in perfect condition. Prior to the Selle Anatomica, I went through 6 different saddles in 15,000 miles.
Next big sale, maybe I'll pick up another H2. But my trusty X1 soldiers on.

My first SA is enroute: X2, vintage, blemished. It's good to read here that blemished doesn't mean disfigured! I'll report back here with my initial impressions.

the non cut out version may stretch less .. & maybe "tru leather"* better than the water resistant tanning-treatment?
*more the old tanning scheme used by Brooks for a century?

Decided to take the leap...I ordered this H1 today for my new Trek 920 which is arriving this week. I got the SPRING15 discount of $28.49, we’ll see how it works out or should I say breaks in.

- My 3 year old NSX just has the tension slider crack. Well, I just noticed it! I ordered a new one from S.A. $2 later (because of $5 of the order), my seat is fixed. Pretty easy repair.
Now just waiting for this winter weather to end in Mich so I can get out for a long ride on my repaired saddle.
Take care.

- Looking forward to hearing more about how you like it (or don't!). I am thinking you'll find it comfortable right out of the box.

I was just about to pull the trigger on a red X1 for $119.99 (Amazon). The seller on Amazon is SA, and the description clearly says weight limit 250 lbs. No problem, I'm around 215 lbs. right now with the intention of dropping another 5-10 lbs. BUT WAIT! I just happened to go to the SA website and suddenly the weight limit is 180-200lbs for this saddle?! Even though the same description on the SA site still contradicts itself by stating 250 lbs.
Maybe it's just me but I find this a bit off putting. Here is the link to the Amazon listing:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZYJ8ZWL...v_ov_lig_dp_it
The price is right and the weight limit is right but apparently this is misleading. The H series is around the $200 mark and that is out of my range.

Thanks! I was really liking the red X1, and they had it on B stock for $99 (and description says 250 lbs limit). I'm going to email them to see what's what. Doesn't seem correct to reduce the weight limit in one specific section of the site, but then leave the old limit in place everywhere too...

Rode the first 20 miles on my SA H1 yesterday, my saddle search is over. A very comfortable saddle and will only become even more comfortable if that’s possible. Will likely order a lighter weight limit SA for my wife’s 920 and return her Bontrager saddle.
Well done SA!
Well done SA!

Edit: I just realized the new bottle from Selle Anatomica is now 2oz, when it used to be 4oz. So the Eco-Flo is twice as much for half the money.

I have-- I really recommend treating the bottom of the saddle if you intend on going out when it's at all wet. It works at advertised, I only had to apply it twice to my X1 in over two years of regular use. So a little goes a long way. Buuuuuuuttt... if you have a leather supply place anywhere local to you (like Tandy Leather,) Eco-Flo Satin Shene is literally the same stuff with a different sticker on it, and costs about $6 for the bottle instead of $20. Even on Amazon, the Eco-Flo is about $10 shipped.

This newer design allows you to replace the leather without sending it back.
You just order the leather seat and unscrew the rivets and replace leather and screw rivets back on done!
SA X2 white/silver rivets, actually aluminum rivets.

I currently have six X1/X2 saddles, some with several thousand miles on them and no rail bending at all. My weight 155-160lbs BTW.

No disrespect to Selle Anatomica or those who have had good luck with their saddles, but I found it the most uncomfortable saddle I've tried in the last ten years. Obviously, the 'hammock' effect doesn't work for me.
I worked with their HQer people, they gave me several tips and were very responsive, and in fact gave me a full refund after a week of trying different ideas. So, nothing but love for SA, but I suggest you make sure you can get refund if it's a non-starter for your butt.

Just my opinion, but if you can't get an SA saddle to be comfortable, you're not trying. My initial setup had the nose of the saddle so high, I thought, "No. There's no way that can be right." But it was. Well past 12,000 miles on SA saddles now, and I've got four of them now.

Love all three of my newly purchased SA’s.
Selle Anatomica has a 30 day comfort fit guarantee on their web page. Just an observation which I circled in
red and me thinks most would see if they actually purchased a SA saddle from their website...

By the same token, I have yet to find a Fizik saddle that isn't a complete ass-hatchet, regardless of the bike it's on, the setup of the saddle, or the shorts it's paired with.
