We are fools on some level, part of the "work ethic" is to work unless you are dying.
I believe I have called in sick 3 days in the past 22 years, luckily I am a pretty healthy guy.

While we are talking drugs, many year ago I developed a condition that required a clotrimazole prescription. I was cycling in Canada and forgot my clotrimazole cream and went to a pharmacy to buy Lamisol. I couldn’t find any so I asked the pharmacist where it was and he asked me for my script since it was prescription only. I explained about the clotrimazole prescription and he say no problem;that's over the counter here. Totally the opposite.
Btw, I was “cure” years ago and no longer have that problem.

But, he'd be less than 10 miles in before the bike stopped being a bike and I'd just be left with a handful of smashed up carbon.

My only employee benefit these days is that I don't have to work with anyone that I don't want to work with.

My crazy ex boss used to brag about the time he came to work and did a bunch of minipreps with a 102 degree fever. The crazy thing about it is that people in our business should know better than to bring communicable disease into the workplace. It's even worse than an NFL player playing football with an injury, because at least injuries aren't communicable.

I recall very early in the pandemic, a local pediatric cardiologist came back from a conference abroad with an acute febrile illness. Everyone knew that Covid was coming. He still went to work and infected LOTS of people and ultimately I think he died from COVID.
People who are really sick need to stay home.

Vacations are doubly expensive - first the cost of the trip, and then the cost of not working during the trip.

It's the sudden deceleration that causes all the hurt.

Hearing all these sick time stories I'm embarrassed to admit how much I took advantage of my companies sick policy. Well, not real embarrassed.

With a couple of people leaving my company recently, and some changes in the front office staff, I'm left in a position where it is difficulty for me to take days off. It's quite frustrating.

Took the sudafed. Was hoping that would fix it. Nope. I really need to be on that red eye tonight. Have I mentioned I have zero patience.

Back from the medical laboratory.
Kind of disappointing. Last week they told me it was 1.5 hours, but the actual FE infusion turned out to be just a few minutes. She slowly administered a dark liquid via a big syringe. I didn't even get a drip bag.
I did have to sit there for 30 minutes afterwards, to make sure I didn't die.
Something weird about that room. The vibrations from interstate traffic made it sound like an ending train was rumbling by.

Turned into a pretty good game and that kid threw some unreal passes. His receivers made some great catches, too. And he can run but running quarterbacks tend to get banged up.

Trying a slight schedule revamp. The Older Boy is working 8-5 shifts, to give him more opportunities to cut meat, as part of his Meatcutters Apprenticeship (insert "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" music here). And since he doesn't drive, I'm dropping him off at work before heading to the office myself - it's basically 5 minutes from home to his store, and 5 minutes from there to my office.
Anywho, as a result, I set the alarm for 6:45 this morning and shifted my entire schedule by at least 45 minutes - actually more like an hour because I beat the alarm by 12 minutes. I don't think I like this schedule. Early birds are welcome to the worms. I don't want 'em.
