Today was Train Day with the kids. It's geared more towards the little ones, but my son was still game. Got to take a walk through some passenger cars and the cabs of a couple of locomotives. I also found the least dorky train shirt that I've ever seen, and it's of our favorite railroad, the Great Northern, so I figured that I should buy it.

Cool idea but not likely to be useful mainly because pee is too salty. Plus, as one gets hot and sweats a lot, urine output drops to around 30 ml/hr which ain’t enough to keep you hydrated even if it were potable.

So I'm going to need a full-on still suit, a la Dune, eh? Done and done.

Back from the bi-weekly lunch at the beach. Piled high carrot cake cupcakes from Costco for dessert. The cream cheese frosting was a half inch thick. I was unable to finish it, after the eggplant parmesan main course. It knocked me starlight into a two hour nap. My wife drove home.

I’ve ridden the old Milwaukee Road right-of-way from Avery, ID, to Taft, MT. Part of it is the Hiawatha Trail that that car ran on. Coolest rail-trail ever. Look at the official website if you are unfamiliar with it.
In Whitefish, MT, along the old Great Nothern, there is an old Great Northern passenger bus that used to take rail passengers between Whitefish and Kalispell.

Didn’t get out until around 3pm today and overcooked myself a bit. It wasn’t excessively hot but there was still a good bit of climbing and the route ended up being a bit longer than I anticipated it being.
Also the only food I had left at the house to bring with me on the bike was a SIS gel someone had given to me to try a while ago.
Figured it was better than nothing but I had to fight to keep it down and really didn’t feel well for the next 30 minutes or so
The tippy top of Paris Mountain seems to be open to climb to again, which is fun
