Facebook IL ParamountUp for sale is this lovely 1974 Schwinn Paramount. It has been well cared for and received a fresh paint job by Waterford in 1988 (50th anniversary of the Paramount). It is a beautiful bike from an era when Schwinn was at the top of their game and were handcrafting these wonderful machines out of their Chicago factory. It rides very nicely and is a quite attractive bike. The chrome plated decorative lugs really stand out, you just don't see that anymore. The pictures do not do the metallic paint justice. Frame size is 61cm center-to-top tube. On the bike: -Campagnolo Triple Ring Crankset -Campagnolo Clipped Pedals (not pictured) -Campagnolo Bottom Bracket -Campagnolo Headset -Campagnolo Downtube shifters -Campagnolo Front Derailleur -Cinelli Stem -Cinelli Handlebars, Leather Wrapped with Campagnolo Bar-Ends -Sachs-Huret Duopar Rear Derailleur (non-original, albeit an upgrade) -Weinmann Carrera brakes and levers -Skip-tooth Rear Cassette -Wolber Super Champion Alpine Wheelset -Generic Nylon Tires (non-original) -Repainted by Waterford in the late 80's or early 90's -Serial number C74199 -Will ship at buyer's expense

My friend met the seller a couple of times this past year and has picked through the hoard. Lots of decent, serviceable bikes left but no diamonds in the rough. The seller was the neighborhood backyard bike mechanic who started collecting decades ago and, well, you see what happened.
Seller seemed to have a predilection for C-dale MTBs as well as 26er MTBs in general.
Selection was huge. Condition was all over the place. Nothing was tuned and ready to go, everything was a project.
Didn't buy anything. Prices were too high for projects and general condition. Not tempted.
Today it's even worse. I wish this seller luck, because the used market has tanked, and it looks like they have a few more to go.

Very early model, looks like a 1982 Stumpy considering the tig-welded frame.
