To be sure, I am not complaining! The hubs on those wheels spin very smoothly. The spokes are dingy at best and rusted at worst. I'll see what happens with some elbow grease but I may need to tear them down. If I can use them as-is, they'll almost certainly go on the guest PX10. If I rebuild they may go on another bike, or not. Options abound.

Well, they're Panaracer so that's a good start. My neighbor's bike is a Cannondale Sirrus with 8-speed Sora, flat bars and it had old 28mm tires. I know he'll appreciate lower-pressure 35s. I got GK Slick blackwalls to match the old tires. The sidewalls seem thick, they remind me of Paselas with herringbone tread. I've been spoiled by Rene Herse tires. I have bikes with Soma Supple Vitesse and Jack Browns, they're close but not quite as satisfying the the RH Extralight casings.

You can't always make a good guess about how a tire will ride before you try it. Many years ago, I bought a pair of Vittoria Hypers. I was really disappointed when they arrived because the tread was thick and heavy. They ride like a much lighter tire, and they had the lowest rolling resistance of any bike tire tested up to that date. And they're heavy! They're still going well on my Super Course, years later. So those Gravel King Slicks might be very nice, too.

I bought a vintage cycling jersey and some photo cards on a online auction for the flood earlier this month in Prato, Tuscany.

While not a bike part my latest thing is bike related. I got a Total Gym machine to augment my indoor bike for winter fitness and more so rehabbing the knees. I've been using one on and off for the past couple of years in PT so I broke down and got myself one. With both knees now replaced I really want to get the legs built back up and strong this winter so I can have a great year riding next year.

A new pair of cheapo 650B wheels. I don't believe for one minute that they'll make my life better, but for less than a hundred bucks shipped for the set I can at least say I tried.

Typical .,,
earlier today I responded on FB about seeing a movie to handle a seasonal sadness (Breaking away) with Le Vélo de Ghislain Lambert. And yes, understandable.

It was a good mail day. Couple things came in but I've been eagerly awaiting these thumbies. I don't even have a project to put them on, yet.

Original cable housing and a shift cable included!

@SJX426 - hard to beat fresh appearing Campagnolo. Way back the finish on the Record brakes seemed indestructible, but that WAS 50 years ago.

@repechage - The only real issue with both of them is the "interference" fit between the arms as can be seen in this pic.
PXL_20231121_131446561 on Flickr
After disassembly of one set, there appears to be a slight bend on the forward arm. The washer between them is really thin. I am debating weather to try to provide clearance by bending or thicker washer or live with it.
The other surprise is the strength of the springs. I used a bench vice to compress the spring for disassembly.

The wheelset was €55, the shipping (from France) a fiver. For €60 I will not be complaining about the fact that the bearings are not properly greased and adjusted. And since I'll be taking those apart anyway, I plan to look into the possibility of replacing the axles by hollow items, so I can use QR's.

Some stuff from the Silca black friday deals. Always wanted to try wax on a chain.
Also the Mondrian bottle and matching keg to put gear and tools in.

Not in the mail but a summons to see Dawn at Pro Kote Indy to pick up the Old Nago. A couple of hour ride but success. It is now back in house...

Dave asked for Lavender that would change colors, but pearl cannot be achieved. There are small flicks of sparkle in the pearl outer coat that really show in sunlight.

the backside arm is bent forward, probably from a whack of the upper extension against the downtube, I have corrected this before way way back reasonably often.
‘the arms should rotate without interference. This IS Campagnolo. Take the caliper apart, copper jaws in the bench vise, hold the arm by the pivot washer region and show it who is boss.
‘the springs ARE stiff. They can be ‘detensioned”

A couple of seat posts from@jdawginsc in exchange for a Technomics. One is a long generic for my guest bike and a 3TTT that's the finishing touch for Mrs. ascherer's Moto Grand Jubile mixte:

Andy,
Those Moto-butter pecans were some of the lightest frames we could find for a mixte frame in the early eighty's. Good on ya for getting this one back into working order. Smiles, MH

@rpechage - Thanks for the solution! That is what I determined I would do.
The interesting thing is that both have the same interference!

A VAR tool tool that is a second one in my stash. I put up for offer to loan out it in the loaner tool thread for those who need a pin spanner for headset and BB adjustments.

The pin spanner showed up without the pins! But...

Mel Pinto to the rescue! This set of pins are still available to buy to keep the tool in new working order.

Pair of 600 Tricolor dual-pivot brakes, fished out of "the Bay" on an offer, $20 shipped.

From 1990. Not an exact match for what would have been original on my recently-acquired '88 Centurion Ironman Carbon, but it's at least the right brand/model and color, matches the rest of the gruppo. I swapped the worn-out and mismatched rear pads with a pair of fresh (and matching) pads, along with the cosmetic cap on the front adjuster. Definitely looks more at home on the bike than the late-'90s Ultegras I originally built it with:
