Good luck. I managed to get last year's thumb surgery in under the wire. 12/17, IIRC. I had already satisfied my deductible and out of pocket max for the year, so I understand your concern. Post-surgery follow up visits were free for 90 days (not including rays), so the while thing cost me almost nothing. Would have been a lot different if I had had to wait until the beginning of 2021.

Pretty non-eventful day at work so far.
I hit the buffet at Whole Foods, having saag paneer, lemon rice, Mexican rice, pinto beans, curry cauliflower, broccoli and carnitas.
A shot of acerola/cordyceps/astragalus; never heard of any of that stuff but the label says it's good for you.
Orange/carrot/beetroot juice to wash it all down.

Looks like I get tomorrow off, then my next day off is Christmas Day. I'll probably be wanting to retire after that stretch.

Ooh, that Omni GLH just rolled by. I see it here quite often, that's pretty rad that it's a daily driver.

edit: Wikipedia says it's true:
The highest-performance Dodge Omni was the 1984-1986 Omni GLH, modified by Carroll Shelby. Following the rejection of "Coyote" by Chrysler, the initials GLH ("Goes Like Hell", the choice of Carroll Shelby) was used instead.

I heard that GLH stand for "Goes Like Hell," is that true?

I am on the horns of a dilemma. I found rims, spokes, and nipples as well as tension gauge and nipple driver for rebuilding the wheels for the Ritchey. The total is pretty close to a brand new pair of Fulcrum Racing 4's from PBK, which would be lighter, more aerodynamic, and probably better quality than I could build myself. BUT I wouldn't have the experience of building wheels. So, how much is that experience worth?
Buying the Fulcrums doesn't prevent me later buying the stuff to build the wheel, but it would be later.
Then there's another dilemma - Mrs. GeneJockey just spent a chunk of money on that bassoon, which means one of two things - 1) this frees me to spend a similar, but lower amount on myself, or 2) this means I shouldn't spend anything like that on myself, since she's spent so much. There's this Litespeed Ultimate on Ebay, but it would need a complete rebuild that would run about $1500-2000 altogether......

3 votes for buying the Fulcrums, and no naysayers. I suspect if I asked on the C&V forum the answer would be different..... BUT despite its age, the Ritchey is not a C&V bike.

Meanwhile, the women who danced to it as sexy young things are now old enough to be - and many are - somebody's Gram-ma.
