Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

thanks man, i love the bike. the DA post is pretty nice. it's not double bolt, but a good single bolt is just fine (and it's very light, between seatpost and replacing the steel fork with CF the bike is at 18lbs 6oz)

might be looking for a new stem, i think i need something slightly longer. was thinking of going with another black one, but silver would match pretty well...

52... my 110 bcd 53 tooth Sugino would not fit because of it having a smaller bolt circle so that chain ring went on my folder.

Folder tops out at 76 gear inches which is fine for touring and commuting while the Cooper tops out at 124 gear inches which is great for high speed descents and not much else.

Today I mounted a new pair of Schwalbe 650B gumwall tires on my custom rando bike that I had built in 1979 and has seen some epic camp touring trips. These tires include a tread on the side for a tire drive generator.

Would be a lot less hideous with black bar tape and a black bottle cage! I love the cheesy 80s-90s merckx schemes.

Thanks. It's the prize of my collection. Took a year to design and have it built by Dennis Sparrow of Missoula Montana. It's chock full of neat details like the brake cable stops in the front and rear racks, integrated kick stand, DT mounts for Suntour Power ratchet shifters, cradle shaped rear rack for carrying tent and sleeping bag etc.
