Bike back pack, not book pack.
I got the old Raleigh out for a 12 mile Post Office run. It was 88° by 8:30, so I didn't plan anything longer. If I go earlier when its cooler, there is lots of commuter car traffic. 8:30 seems the sweet spot trafficwize. Getting hot though. I stopped by the sidewalk little library to drop off 2 and bring home 3 books. After the P.O., one strap on my flimsy backpack broke, (3 books + compact pump) so I tried tying it to the handlebar, hoping it wouldn't fall into the spokes. As I made my last turn, the bag slipped down and rubbed the tire tread. Got home OK. I'll bring a better backpack next time.

20 Miles today, which is twice what I've been riding. 10 of that was at a brisk exercise pace and 10 were putzin' 'round miles.

Great company yesterday but not one bit of help drafting. We had a hot-humid-long day of rotating the cranks for 201 miles. Off to Walmart on the grocery grabber right now with the same group, me, myself and I. AGAIN, no drafting help.

27 miles, squeezed it in because it rained yesterday and will tomorrow. I don't mind riding in the light showers we are having, but the drivers have all forgotten what it is since we had almost none for 3-4 months.

Recovery day today, did a century on Friday, on my new CX/gravel bike. Hadn't done one in 2 years, and I turned 60 this year so I'm feeling pretty good. Recovery takes longer now though.

We're supposed to be getting some rain coming through for the next several days so I doubt if I'll do much riding. Instead I plan on working on my Sirrus in the garage and getting it in tip top shape.
