Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Kinda want one. But I want to see what the industry is going to do with brakes too.
If I could get my hands on an inexpensive carbon gravel frame, I'd be tempted to pull everything off of the Haanjo and upgrade it... but at the same time, I kind of want a fat bike to get out of the house in the winter. A weight weenie SS would be my irrational want.

F-35s look cool flying over snowy hills, too.

Capt. Kristin "BEO" Wolfe, F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team commander and pilot, performs the "dedication pass maneuver" during her final rehearsal flight of 2020 at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, Dec. 18, 2020.

West coast college kids love waking up early on Saturdays to get some hoops in.

EDIT: nevermind, game's in the midwest. Probably practically evening back there

There will always be rim brake stuff out there. Same with 10 speed, and all the rest of the obsoleted things. Other than Ultegra 6770, that is.

I hope so. I think I've got enough rim brake road wheels to last 'til I'm 70, but maybe I should buy one more pair just to make sure.

They look nice but this is the first I have heard of them.

That ship has done sailed.
And thats the rub. I would need a disk frame then, and another set of disk wheels, mechanical disk calipers. And that would negate the weight weeny portion of the build. Which is the whole excuse to build another bike. Trapped by my own logic.

Same! Though 70 isn't that far away, come to think of it.

Same frame that Phil Giamon is riding. He and Phil had a falling out over it, I believe Phil is or was selling them also for more money. Thats the bad cookie frame that's on sale for $540.00 acourding to the website. But is that painted,, how much to ship etc. So many questions...

I've probably got enough stuff here already to support that idea.
But man , Silver metal flake fade into black metallic paint , mechanical disk 60mm carbon gloss wheels. Black bar tape on black bars seat and seat post. Hooo! I'm getting light headed.

I mean, the stuff is going to be around, but disc is clearly the direction - each year there are more models that are only offered in disc. And you can still do a WW build with discs... it just takes a wee bit more money.

To elaborate on my dumb, totally irrational bike desire - a WW, SS hydro disc bike. That would be fun. Maybe with gravel tire clearance.

I didn't think that you would want to steal it for functional use. I assumed it would be solely for the lolz.

This was last year, I don't know about now. Phil was selling the same frame he was riding. I think Harley undercut him

I can't get disc brakes. They are heavy and non-aero. Plus brakes just slow you down anyway.

I might go to my grave running rim brakes. (Insert snarky comment here.)
