Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm not sure how much land is there--a few acres, at least. It's quite a sight. He's got a rundown trailer that he lives in. Right next to it there's an uninhabitable, decomposing structure. Has some old junk scattered about elsewhere. A old barn-like thing across the way.

In recent years the exurban sprawl that I've referred to here earlier has quasi-surrounded him. In fact there's a boathouse in a bordering subdivision only a few dozen yards away from the skeletal remains of what used to be a boathouse on his lot. I'm sure the neighbours appreciate their view.

I have no idea what the land there is worth, but I'm pretty sure he could sell just part of it and have plenty of money to fix things up.

Nope.

People are weird.

Fun fact:
I hate the original, schmaltzy album version of Long and Winding Road that Phil Spector produced. This stripped down McCartney version is much better.

I'll have to check the schedule. A few years ago after a concert I went down to the finish line and saw the end of the road race. That venue was 1/2 mile closer, though.

Cycling is a boring spectator sport.

I haven't watched them at all this year, but they have a long history of trying to keep it interesting for the fans.

Possibly. I don't think I will ever know why, but as long as it works fine now, I am not complaining.

Another 4/6 for me. This seems to be my norm these days.
