Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The other thing? Turns out Mrs. GJ and I are pretty boring people, but we're totally cool with that.
Vacationing to see family would have been way less expensive.

But, that would have meant missing seeing some really cool stuff, and some great times with our kids. Those times where the four of us could just have fun together without any intrusions were priceless to us.

Kudos to Rango!
This morning when I didn't leave for work by 9, he figured out it was Saturday, and thus that I owe him a walk. I let him choose the route, and the silly old bastard went straight up the Alameda de las Pulgas! We ended up climbing over 200 feet total in just 1.2 miles. Once again, he set a pace I could just keep up with, and maintained it till the last 25 yards, I think because he knew we were going home. And at that, when we got to the front walk, he made it clear he wanted to keep going.

Not normally any coal mining involved, if that's what you mean.

Same here. I’ve noticed that 32 is at the top edge of my comfort zone, even when fully loaded with wide tires. In 2016 I managed to hit 43.9 mph descending into Ennis, MT. Wide, pretty smooth shoulder with no corners. I was proud of myself. Crashing on blood thinners is not a good thing to do.

I hate zwift with a passion. Decided to do a ramp test today. Everything was going well, until about the time I got to where my FTP is. I had ERG mode on was maintaining a smooth cadence, and all of a sudden I see flashing in red more power. It showed only 200 watts when it should have been at 260. I hadn’t changed anything. Then it magically bounces back to 260. This happened time and time again until I finished the ramp test. The number it gave me was complete bull **** and it was such a waist of energy.

So, I then attempted some 11 min threshold. Zwift changed my FTP based off the ramp test, but after the effort just figured I would do the workout at that FTP. I turned ERG mode off and started the workout. Everything was going pretty well until half way into the 11 min zone 4 interval. My cadence was constant gear was constant, but again the power started dancing. 50 watts would drop instantly, and because I am focusing I would increase to get the power back up, but then it would drastically over shoot.

I stopped after the first one, At this point I decided to do another spin down. I did one before I started the workouts.

Next I tried over unders. This went better than the first 2 but still something wonky is happening.

IMO it should be easier to hold a power on the trainer than outside.
