Felix likes bikes. Even if the cables are slightly too long.

That's horrible news, very sorry to hear of your loss. I wish you well in dealing with it.

Friends...help me celebrate Pixar's life...my wife and I will be taking her to the vet this afternoon for her to head out to the rainbow bridge...she has been suffering with liver failure and the vet told us earlier this week that it was time. She is suffering, so we must move forward...

We adopted Pixie (one of our nicknames for her) about 10 years ago. My wife, Kim, was taking care of a feral cat colony. Pixie was dropped off at the colony and it rejected her. She became our "special needs" kitty, as she was always a bit "off"...in a lovable way. She would stare off into space and just meow at it! She would go sit in a corner and meow at the walls! We did finally have a vet check and the vet believed that, as a kitten, she was dropped on her head.

She was also our "Mouth of the South"...she was the most talkable cat ever! She would jump up beside me on the sofa and just starting talking to me...I would tell her that "I don't speak CAT!"...and she would just keep talking.

I will miss her...

Oh man. Sayonara, Pixie. What a beautiful face. This is tough.

I like the ones that are a little "off".
And speaking of talkative felines, we have one too. Never seen a cat with so many vocalizations, and so willing to use them. But she only talks to me. Probably because I'm always talking to her. She came from Beijing, as a stray.

May peace be with you, Pixie. And you and yours, Daf.

She doesn't look like this anymore though. Now she's as big as a Chevrolet.

I can't remember who posted this picture originally. It's probably in the early pages of this thread. But I kept it. Love this photo.

Thanks for your words of support. and RIP Pixie.

Its always hard to say good-bye to a pet, but its our responsibility to end the suffering when its time.
Still tough.

The strange thing is this morning we woke up to a home without a cat or 2 or 3, for the first time in 42 years.

Even the clueless dog senses something is amiss. Hasn't touched her food.

I'll raise a glass to Pixie & Bernie tonight.

No so clueless...it seems.
She misses Pixie too, of course.

BTW. The last time we had to do this, we had a house call vet do it.
It eased Cinder's stress.
Saddest day I can remember in recent times.

These are our boys, they are brothers from the same litter. And yes, when they go outside, they do so with a harness and leash.

Front: BoO (Born of Osiris, I named their mother Osiris)

It's our living doll "Daisy" at about one year of age. - She is seven years old this month. One of four feral babies we saved from a shed in the alley across the street. One only lived one year, the other three are living in our home and they are healthy, fat and happy.

Daisy these days, snoozing in the sunbeam with 21-year old Runtly.

The newest member to our family, Harrison. The friend's daughter who fostered him named him, I thought it was cool someone so young was a Beatles fan, turns out he was named after one of the Bachelors.

Our 17 year old Russian blue Fred died last year and Harrison is almost an exact copy, including a great personality. Why can't cats stay kittens forever?

In the last two days Miss Kitty has taken a turn for the worse. I didn't expect her to make it through the night but I think today is the day. She's comfortable in my bed, still barely purring when I stroke her, but she can't even lift her head up now. When I was a kid we had my dog put to sleep at the vet and I told myself Miss Kitty would go at home if she didn't seem to be in pain. She's been a good girl, this is a bad day.

Condolences.
I've had to play this hand out both ways; they both suck, but staying home is preferable in my book.

After I posted this, I went upstairs and laid with her on my bed. She died about 10 minutes later. Didn't seem to be in pain, she just stopped breathing as I was petting her. I just buried her in the woods in a special spot. Goodbye, my friend
