Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So, I thoroughly cleaned a cassette by hand the other day since I was replacing the chain...

On the next ride to work, the chain skips. Great, I guess the cassette is worn. Ordered a new one.

Put new cassette on, struggling a bit with notches in the freehub.

Next ride still skips! WTH

Took the new cassette off, checked the freehub. Cleaned it out and lubed.

Hope I make it to the office today!

(Ultrasonic cleaner looking attractive at this point.)

If your insurance will cover it, I highly recommend this. Alere??

The at home monitors are way better than the blood draw. It's similar to the home glucose monitors, just a drop of blood needed.

Since (per tracker) mine is less than 2 miles away, something's wrong if it isn't here this afternoon.

Yes, and yes. I haven't met my deductible yet, but it will still be cheaper that going to the lab, assuming I stick with it and amortize the initial training cost.

Whether at home on in the lab I have been going to it's literally a finger prick. Less advanced labs still draw a tube.

No, a TimTam Slam is not like a Timtak Slam. A TimTam Slam is when you bite off opposite corners of a TimTam and use it like a straw to draw coffee in to the cookie and then eat it. A Timtak Slam involves long stems and bug-eye glasses - slightly different.

The race is on! Although USPS can't seem to track the package on their site, them embedded USPS tracker on ebay says that it's in Minneapolis.

My S&S case was in Wyoming last evening.
BikeFlights is apparently a misnomer.

No insurance on the gear at this time.

It was a 5D Mk II, which are about $650ish right now used. So it may indeed be toast and not worth repairing. Sending out to CPS later today to see.

May be $500-800 to get the lens fixed.

Ugh.
