I was still a newlywed at 40. One year married. My wife had a good job, for the first time, and I was just moving into farming and sawyering for a living. Those next five or six years were the hardest I've ever worked. Hard, physical labor on a daily basis, and long hours. Very satisfying, if money wasn't the object.

I felt so drained after yesterday’s commute that I drove to work today. And because of the weatherman’s predictions, I’d didn’t get to ride to work on Monday-Tuesday either, so it was a “slow” week.

40 is still pretty far away, and it can stay there.

I took my daughter to ft monroe today to hang out at the beach. My legs still feel that lactic acidic tired feeling. Gunna go to bed early tonight and take an easy ride tomorrow. I go back to work sunday.

A month ago, we were planning to go out to LA to get my daughter ready to attend her freshman year at USC. Now I am thinking it's more likely she will be taking her classes from home. But it's still TBA.

I'm sure it'll be a pleasant drop in price too?

In my dreams. It may end up costing the SAME since they threatened that if students stay off campus, any financial aid will be reduced by the amount of room/board they are not using. We did not get much aid, but a little, roughly the amount for a dorm room and a budget meal plan.
Sigh.
Sigh.

*other than the rider, yes, I know

Just paid 500 bucks to get my bike updated to R7000. Can be done pretty affordably if you want. The used 5800 stuff is pretty inexpensive now, but not worth getting over R7000 imho. R7000 feels like a bolt action rifle. Solid.

Come to S. Jersey, eastern Delaware or eastern Maryland. The downside is no coasting down hills. I sometimes lead a 75 ride in Jersey. People underestimate its difficulty because of the terrain. But with few traffic control devices and no real climbs, you are constantly pedaling, and the wind can be a factor as well.
