Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I was going to mention their Exploro sale to you yesterday but forgot. Glad to see it's been brought to your attention.

I spoke with my wife about it last night, but we’d had a few cocktails.

It’s a really great value, even if the wheels suck.

It hasn't happened with bikes in our house, but we were laughing the other day that some of the most expensive art pieces we've bought were the result of decisions made over a few drinks.

Orange or red?

The race was cancelled in 2020 due to covid and 2021 it was moved to September then cancelled due to flooding. They say it will be back in 2022.

That was Ida flooding. This year we had to detour around Basking Ridge and The Great Swamp (among other places) because of flood damage.

A guy I follow in Richmond has one. He rides like 125 miles a day and he loves it. I don’t know much about the company but the bike looks sweet.
The aspero looks nice as well.

How much more is the aspero?

If I was going to get a gravel bike for mostly road riding I personally would go with the ridley kanzo fast.

Its super tempting don’t get me wrong. I may just do nothing and wait too. I love the R3, but it sucks in the wet. The revolt is fun too, but it’s slow and heavy. Plus changing pedals etc is a major ass pain.

are they the power meter pedals? if not pony up the 100 bucks and buy a new pair.

I had to swap pedals between the ritchey and the cervelo for several months, didn’t bother me. I hadn’t planned on getting pedals for the madone, but my mechanic took one look at my back up pedals and he said he wouldn’t put those on it. They were hand me downs and god knows how many miles are on them. He didn’t think they were safe, so I got a pair for the madone.

The back up pair just stay on the ritchey which is on the trainer.

Personally, I'd be a bit cautious in buying something that expensive sight unseen and without an opportunity to ride one like it. There may be a reason for such a steep discount.

The 3t bikes were always on sale at excel. I just assumed it was because of sizing available.

Going to have to see two patients next Friday. Not sure the risk is justified, since there's nothing at all urgent, and maybe nothing at all, wrong with them, but other people involved want to go forward.

Yes, they are PM pedals

Yah. But I bought the R3 that way. Honestly if it was disc brake I’d never even consider this move. The good thing is that I can likely sell it for more than I paid for it in April 2020.

Three-day weekend starts in a little over an hour.

Picked up some lamb loin chops for tomorrow's dinner.
