Fell for the “as seen on TV pressure washer”. I never buy these products but this seemed like it could work?
It does not work, and the one nozzle that does actually remove crap from my driveway is so narrow, it would take me a year to clean my drive way.

I was a lonely teenage broncin' buck,
With a pink carnation and a pickup truck,
But I knew I was out of luck
The day the music died...

Since it's going to rain tomorrow I wanted to ride today. Some guys were doing a long-ish road ride but I would have held them up. Decided to go solo on the dirt.
Mostly dirt roads, some smooth, some not so smooth.
This hill is clay and people walking on it when it was wet made it bumpy when climbing.
Above Topanga Canyon. That road is normally full of commuter traffic but today it is closed because of a landslide. Weird looking down there and not seeing a car.
Turn around point. Still a little foggy down there.
Heading back.
Getting ready to drop down to the real world.

Everything is growing since we've had rain this year.
There was a fire in this section and these things were planted. They are thriving, whatever they are.

Low grade flu? all week, until today, when I went for the cold pill. The sore throat was viscios last night and now gone. It’s the intermittent cough and plugged sinuses that make it hard to sleep.

Early in the ride a dweeb on an e-bike pulled alongside of me and asked why I didn't have a motor. I told him I'm only 70 and I might consider one when I get older. Undaunted, he kept on, said I might be able to put a motor on my existing bike, unless it's carbon. Yes, it's carbon, I told him. Finally, he rode off. Then, when I got to the top of the next climb, he was standing there and made a big deal about me making it up there. I ignored him and kept going.

Prolly a coincidence, Just have not felt like risking it. I use Soapy water in a bottle, a rag, and ceramic wax. I take the wheels off and if the cassettes are really bad I take the cassette off and soak them. I use my daughter’s pipe cleaners for the hard to reach spots. Really don’t see the need to use a hose.
I did have trek wash the checkpoint after monster cross. It was pretty muddy. Hose required for that one.

One last question. Is that all in one ride. 40/20s. 2x10 and the 20 seconds of love followed by tempo? I’m summarizing but I know what you wrote. Or was that different rides.?
If it’s all one ride, bring it on. Also. I thought you said the 15 min thresholds were leg killers so would that make more sense to do that the last day before work. Not questioning the master, just curious.

Yes. All one ride, 40/20 3x10' 10 rest. between. Rest 10' then 2x10' 10" full gas, 50" rest. 10' rest between. 10' rest. Then.... 1 hour of tempo with burst. So.... You ride tempo for three minutes, then at that point you hit 330-ish for 20" then go back to tempo. 2 minutes and 40 seconds (6 minutes) you do it again. 9 minutes, 12 minutes on up. At 59 and 40 seconds you can burst, or you can wait til 60 minutes, and finish it at 60':20"
Around a year ago, I was at 3x20' then the next day I was at 4x10, 2x10 and 1.5 hours at tempo with burst. Plus, I was lifting. So, you're getting off easy.

Threshold does take its toll, but you have 24 hours to recover, and it's only 45 minutes total of real work.

Like running into a vegan? (just kidding, vegans). I thought this guy would back off when I told him I was older than him.
When I got to the trailhead I saw a friend I haven't seen in a long time. She was on a new hardtail and started telling me how a lot of the people she used to ride with have switched to e-bikes and she was pissed about it. Seems she was told to get an e-bike so she can keep up, or something. She launched into a tirade like I never heard from her before.

Bottom line, you're now trying to repeat power over and over, no matter where the heart and breathing are. Along with maintaining pace.
