I’m actually not on smugmug. To be honest I hadn’t heard if it. Perhaps you mixed up my post with another. My most recent photos are now hosted on Flickr after a bunch of of my photos got caught behind the line during the Photobucket debacle. It’s deflating to think of all the wasted energy I spent oosting photos with photobucket links that are no longer accessible by others. I’ll have to look into smugmug.

No Nor'easter in North Texas today. Bright sun but a stiff south wind this morning. Of course, my ride starts out to the north, so the return trip was a bit rough.

Temps finally hit the 40's (colder really gets my lungs now), the roads are clear (quite a bit of snow this past week) and my wife is finally walking again (broken ankle in January) so the base miles have started. Sometimes i agree with my daugher that it would be nice to live somewhere warmer. The indoor trainer is not very appealing after 4 months of winter.

I love that first picture. Looks like she could be as old as me.
A good day for fenders!
I took the Fuji on my first grocery run sans car yesterday. I may have overstuffed the bags a bit...
This morning, I went on another sunrise Smoothie ride. The sunrises are the same almost every single day here, but I never get tired of seeing them.
I took Brown out to the the canal that doesn't really have a name, way out east.
At one point, the canal diagonally intersects another intersection of two major roads. There's a broad flood channel next to the canal with its own tunnels directly under the intersection, so I took that instead. My little headlight is really just for being seen in the dark. It helped me not at all in flood tunnel.
I had my Clif bar under a different highway next to a different airport, the 202 north of the Mesa Gateway airport. The only birds around were cliff swallows, who left me in peace.

Last week I rode to work most days, planned to ride tomorrow too but now they are predicting 1-2 inches tonight. Ugh.

First ride in the daylight in what feels like months yesterday, on a sunny, breezy, 45 degree day.
Breaking in the new Cambium and Gravelkings. Even had a big tailwind and got the old SLT up to 35mph on a slight downhill!

No pic(s) yet. Jut rode my commute again. Temps around freezing, with a cold nor'easter headwind left over from the severe storm earlier this weekend and/or prep'ing for the one to hit us tomorrow. Some friends on Cape Cod said their winds hit 90 mph.
Near work there is a set of stoplights hanging from a big cable over the intersection. On my ride this morning I saw that one of them had been spun around about 120 degrees from the direction it was supposed to be facing. Must've been some heckuva wind.

Lest we forget that Spring has nearly sprung, here are some photos from my ride on Saturday:
Setting off on the Bruce Vento Trail
For you Bob Dylan Fans
Leaving Lowertown
A visual metaphor - light at the end of the tunnel
Beautiful, dry pavement - as far as the eye can see.
Until we hit this - several deep puddles hid icy bottoms; Thank goodness for studded tires.
Crossing Lafayette Bridge on the way home.
That was an excellent ride. I met my Dad at Gulden's in Maplewood for lunch at the end of the trail. Then I faced strong headwinds out of the south, all the way back.
This morning I awoke to ~6 inches of fresh, wet, heavy snow. This too shall pass...

Nice pics, gang
Here's a few shots from my Saturday ride, visiting little towns in the Olympia, WA vicinity.
Stopped for a breather at an Xmas tree farm near Rainier, business seemed maybe a little slow for a Saturday?
A small informal roadside memorial on the outskirts of (Army/Air Force) Joint Base Lewis/McChord. I'm guessing it was set out for the base's casualties from our little adventure in Iraq? Fairly poignant, regardless. Looks like it's been there a few years.
Also poignant; an abandoned church in Rainier.
In Rainier, I crossed with a pack of roadies moving fast. No pic, but a couple of the older ones in the group did a doubletake on my bike. I could just imagine the thought balloons: "Whoa, Legnano? Is that an old Legnano?" (It's not).
View from inside the historical information kiosk in Tenino City Park. This place used to be a major sandstone mining town and there quite a few old sandstone buildings in the historical downtown block.
Some local BMX kids chatting up the town's stone carver in downtown Tenino. I was puttering around town for about 30 minutes, just being a nosy tourist, and ran into those same two kids in different locations three or four times.
"You have died of dysentery." Fortunately, no. But I was feeling a bit gassy before visiting the public restroom back at the park.

Inspired by DQRider and Lascauxcaveman I shall introduce you all to the little town of Nicasio, California which is 7 miles from the little town of Lagunitas where I live. I have ridden through Nicasio hundreds of times but foolishly never before stopped to wander around and take a close look.
Nicasio's most-depicted landmark is Saint Mary's Church built in 1867. On any sunny spring weekend there is likely to be a watercolorist or two camped with their easels next to the church.
Just past the church the highway makes first a sharp left turn then a sharp right turn skirting around the centerpiece of this quiet town, the ball field!
Nicasio takes its Little League seriously... but not too seriously.
Tiny buildings abound in Nicasio. I'm not sure why. Here's a sampling.
The grandest building in town is the old schoolhouse.
My regular stop in town is the creamery. We are blessed in this area with a wealth of small-batch cheese companies.
Wonder no longer why my bike has a handlebar bag.
