Somewhere serving a specialty food for which your locality is known. So if it's a cheesesteak place, it should be because you're in Philly. If it's a bakery, it's because they bake something that you can't get in other places. It is not "this place does the best ham sandwich in town," but it is "people come to this town from other towns for the crab cakes." Include a description about why your region's version of this specialty is better than the next place.
How about the absolute worst place to get the delicacy my region is famous for?
Lobster rolls. Don't get them from a sub chain.

Darnit! I was hoping for the opposite type of recommendation. But for the truth in your find, I will begrudgingly allow it. Well done. Pick your mission.

Next mission: A really, really big, dent your rim pothole. You don't need to actually dent your rim, but bonus points if there's a story.

Pothole Posted. Next: Alignment Shop
Probably an F1 on the Fuji-Miyata* pothole scale.
I was on my way to the hardware store and I went by the road above knowing it had a bad surface. That then put me on an old highway that parallels one of the massive freeways here in Houston. This used to be an important road (think 1950's) but is now fairly quiet. I've been using it to exercise at night on the Moots** tandem because it is smooth and safe. I was surprised to see this one on that route:
Unexpected F1 on night route.
So this is a case where I could have bent a rim in the future if I hadn't gone bike pic'ing. Probably not worth bonus points, but maybe an attaboy?
Interestingly, that road was the subject of a nifty "bait-and-switch" by TXDOT. About 8 years ago they started a $2.5 billion upgrade to the parallel freeway. As they were finishing up last year, I remembered that a bike route was part of the original plan so I went looking for it. (Not too many of my destinations are in that direction.) No bike route to be found.
I researched it to make sure my memory served me right, and there it was in the approved environmental impact statement. So I called the project office. They told me that yes, bike infrastructure was approved, but it wasn't funded. But not to worry, if they ever get it funded, it already has environmental approval.
And they wonder why they have a credibility problem....
Anyhow, this reminds me I need to take my wife's minivan in for a front end alignment. You can help motivate me:
Next Mission: A shop that does alignments. It can be any type of shop but there should be a sign about alignments.

I thought this would be a slam dunk. Three tire stores right near my house. First two had all their regular signs plastered over with instructions. Like curbside pick up etc. Wear a mask. The third one had the traditional “alignments” sign in the window but I didn’t think climbing up the lawn to get my bike in the shot would be such a great idea. People are a little touchy these days.
so I continued on my ride to drop off a book at my favorite little library. It was gone, just a couple books on the ground. The guy was there in his garage welding up something. He said it got stolen. The shelf that is. Sigh.
As my local “real library” is closed I’ll ride around a bit and then back home. Maybe I’ll just sit in the pool.
Good luck

Not really much of a tower but a place for a lifeguard to sit.
that’s at Larkey Park in my town. I am not claiming any prize. The original point of this thread was to get people out riding. So I did. I think we need some coastal riders to get a picture like this.
from Miami. Enjoy

Is that a really tall chair on wheels? I don't think I've ever seen that. Close, but I think it's got to be a permanent structure to be a tower.

Next mission: A former school building. It can be an abandoned school, a former school that is now an office building or apartment building, or some other service. Try to get the name of the school in the picture.

Next Mission: Interesting mini-golf (putt putt) structure.

Hi everyone,
Italy officially enters the game!
Here there is my city's mini-golf structure.
Next mission: a shining fire fighting apparatus.
Bonus points if there are Firefighters in the pic.

Great debut, thanks!
What do you mean by "a shining fire fighting apparatus"? I just don't know what you mean by "shining".

Well, I love to see how FF all over the world take proudly great care of their vehicles, and I find US FF apparatuses livery really attractive.
Of course, I love Italian FF's livery, too! But I find that, most of the times, a US huge (for our standards) FF truck has a distinctive, spotless look that projects a highly professional image.
Something like this:

Oh, you mean "shiny"!
Shining is the verb form, shiny is the adjective.
Great assignment, let's go!

Awesome. An American teaching an Italian, English.
However if you Google Shining Meaning you will find Shining IS an Adjective.

Ok, Ok, that's technically correct, but in American English, "shining" is more likely to be used as an adjective in a poetic setting--e.g., "sea to shining sea". I actually should have said that while "shining" can be a verb or an adjective, "shiny" is never a verb, so the meaning is more obvious.
Maybe it's an idiom difference, but is the meaning of a "shining fire fighting apparatus" clear in British English?
