So I get a tingling sensation in one of my hands occasionally like a dead leg feeling especially when I forget to wear gloves. Nothing that really bothers me but I wonder if it is from landing on it a few crits back. Has anyone experienced this and is it just bruising or non related?

When I broke my collar bone, the jagged bone did some nerve damage that made it feel like my forearm had drying wood glue all over it. Kind of crunchy/flaky/sharp feeling. It went away completely.

If you want to know what my shoulder looks like, take a look at the shots of Ted King yesterday. Same injury, same place.

I have been doing this and it works well. I am using an arm warmer over the Saran wrap.

So, what is everyone favorite NSAID for bruising/road rash?
Aleve really hasen't been cutting it for me and I will probably pair it with tylenol tomorrow. I just hate using acetaminophen.

I re-hosted Ex's article on gdocs so you don't have to download it.

Also, if you crashed into poison oak I recommend you do the whole process.
hot shower
scrub
scrub more
pat dry with sterile bandage
apply tegaderm
then just go ahead and shoot yourself in the ****ing head. It ain't worth living with poison oak all over your body. technu, zanafel, heroine and sandpaper; I tried 'em all.

so if you ever have road rash and are thinking "this tegaderm is expensive, how about new skin spray".
I say go for it. That was we can commiserate about what it feels like. I need someone else who knows.

Got a question:
I have a scab from a "crash" that happened 3 weeks ago. It's taking a while to dry up. This might sound disgusting, but I tried to pry it open but I'm not sure if it's all dried up underneath. The light wounds surrounding it has already dried up and I removed by myself without no issues (it's not that deep surrounding it).
Do I just let it go by itself? It's been about 3 weeks now. I'm probably getting impatient but this is my first cycling related wound.
Thanks.

It will come off on its own or with very little effort. It's not going to heal under there and not release the scab. Likely there's just a small area in the middle holding everything together. If it's really bugging you, soak it for a long time and see if it loosens up.

It actually came off today. I wore knee warmers and it just came off with it, lol.

Lately, a big favorite for me is the tubular bandage with non-stick pads and neosporin. I think I like it better than tegaderm in the early days.

Hey I haven't found any info on stickiness and pain to remove dressings. It hurts so bad it's really all I'm concerned about. So everyone saying to use tegaderm... does it not stick??

Tegaderm does not stick, and lubed w/neosporin nonstick pads held in place with tubular bandages do not stick. If you get sticking dressings from other methods, take a bath and soak for 20 minutes -- it will help a bit.
