I have been in wheel mode for the past two weeks. Building, and overhauling. This morning I had to cannibalize an orphan axle for a cone. Once this bike goes out the door, probably tomorrow, I will be one rear wheel short of playing with a full deck. I have been rear wheel short since forever. All the while I've been flush with fronts.
I so enjoy building bikes that I've given thought to doing just that, in flipper mode, to rid myself or all the extra components. Rather than try to sell them, or simply giving them away.

So I realized the rear wheel making the pinging sound has a small crack near one of the spoke holes, which is a bumner. Sad!
I threw on another old rear wheel (the stock DT Swiss boat anchor that came on the Roubaix) but I realized why I had it off the bike and on the shelf: for some reason, under heavy load only, the wheel goes side-to-side slightly but enough to rub the rear brake. This is really a drag. The wheel itself spins nice and true. I can’t quite figure out why it does this other than maybe I need to tighten the axle somehow? The QR is plenty tight in the dropout.
Advice?

Just walked into a dicks in buffalo, the hand sanitizer they made me use smelled like straight whiskey. I don’t drink anymore, the smell made me gag. The lady just stared at me.

Looks like they ditched their bowling program in 2002. #sad
Luckily they have a gallery of pics from the good ol' days:

Ride today was good but SO humid. At rest stop, one of the riders was not looking so good. I asked her how much water she drank so far. She said 2/3 of a bottle. I had gone through both my bottles by that time. I suggested she drink more but obviously she is of the Velo Vol school of hydration.
The total ride was just under 3.5 hours and I ended up drinking over 4 bottles of water.

I consumed about 4 bottles on Sunday over about that duration. One had Gatorade in it, I'm happy to say. Na+ is fast on days like this.

buffalo is HAF. Only reason I bid this trip was to go north and get away from the heat. I found a bike shop to rent a bike. It would be a 54 diverge. 50 dollars for 3 hours, and I didn’t bring my helmet so throw in another 10 for that.
I offered 25 for 2 hours, they didn’t bite.

Soupy and 81-84* here. Got out shortly after six and knocked out 42.75 miles in just under 2:15. That’s 19.0mph for those who don’t like math... including lights (which were favorable but still). New 90’ HR record (156bpm) and 25’ total above 300w. And chased down and mercilessly dropped the Felt IA with 404s that got me at point.
Now excuse me while I go pass out.

One day I’ll get to take the P2 back to the long straight roads and see what speed is. Or hell maybr COTA in September. That turn1 hill will feel a lot flatter.

My wife and I did a short ride yesterday and another today. Her back is acting up again and she doest do well in the 90+º heat which is all we've had for awhile. My Strava will look pretty poor this week, I'm sure.

Indeed. But the meaning of above can range from, "OK, I guess" to "That's what I would pick."

For some reason, Strava has decided to count my wife’s miles this week along with mine. No idea why. What a mess.
