The MSRP for the Specialized Allez Comp E5 frameset is $580. I got mine for $500 even, so I guess there's a pretty good profit margin in there, but the $350 price must be from years ago.

1000 gram boyd 20mm tubulars (yeah WW I know) $750
KCNC crank
Syntace f99 stem(or any 100 gram stem)
Ti spindle modded Speedplays (-50 grams for like $70)
So, -100gm for tubes, -30 for stem -50 for pedals -430 for wheels -140 for crank
750
I imagine there's still ways to go, honestly I would go for rival instead of force and sell off the crank & brakes and buy more WW parts.

Well yea, you could but for an everyday bike (as I would weigh between 180-190lb.) wouldn't want to go with 20mm tubulars or Ti spindles though it would be a nice idea.

I'm working to get my CAAD9 to under 16lbs.
But, I might be stuck at just over 16 because I'm finding it hard to replace
my current parts with lighter bits that actually perform as well or better.
I'd happily stick with just over 16lbs if I know that that's the best I can do for the quality I have.
Adjusted for the sell-off parts, it's now costing me a solid $3,500. and I still have the OEM wheelset/fork/fr der/seat post from the original bike. I think I'm going to go another $500. to lighten it up another 1/2 lb to get it in that mystical 15lb range while keeping my relatively heavy, but comfortable cockpit and wheelset. I'm trying to strike a balance between lightweight and reliability. A 15lb bike that continually breaks on me is worthless. So, I'm going to keep an eye on what works for others and take notes. Then I'll borrow the best ideals.
I know I could've gotten it down to 15lbs cheaper and quicker, but again, I don't think the bike would've been as strong as it is now. And, to be brutally honest, I have to say that aesthetics were of equal priority to weight and performance. My CAAD9 might not be the lightest or the sleekest looking, but in the immortal words of Carl Carlton: "She's a bad mama jama!"

Anyone else have problems with the rear brake cable on the CAAD10 rubbing on the inside of their left leg? The cable itself mounts slightly to the left of the top tube and the cable was placed on the outside of the seat stay by the bike store, I have since rerouted it between the seat stays to see if the solves the problem.
It is enough to make me want to sell (or return) the bike. See my other thread on this topic.

Here's the new ride. I originally was going to build a up a caad frame, But for $1,995 I couldn't pass up this deal. Just got back from a nice 40 mile coastal ride and I am really impressed with the 7900 DA and also the shimano RS80 wheelset. I am only going to be doing a few minor modifications and I will be good to go.
Enjoy the pics

Got it the other day, Love this bike. The only issue I have is there is an odd ticking noise coming from the Bottom Bracket/Front Der....anyone know what that may be?
